STD? Balinitis? Yeast Infection?

On my previous post i didnt write details, so im making new here. Sorry. About two weeks ago red rash shoved on my penis. I have washed it and was putting alcohol and it helped. Now my penis head is not inflamed or hurt but the rash is still there and scales with cracks too. Could this be balinitis or some sort of fungal infection. Doctor gave me Gentomicin but it doesnt help.

My penis is dry and foreskin is kindof sticky, it retracts slowly.

It does not bother me too much, it is just ugly to see.

P.S I am 21 year old and virgin. I have masturbated frequently before this but last two weeks i stopped.

What to do? Thanks.

Looks like balanitis (which is usually caused by a fungal/yeast infection).  It seems unusual for a doctor to prescribe Gentomicin, so what did they think it was?

I don't think it's any STI, and personally, I wouldn't see the doctor again straightaway unless it gets worse, or doesn't clear up in maybe a week.  Do not put alcohol on your penis though.  I don't see how it could make anything better, but I can easily see how it could makes things worse.

If it is balanitis, then these links may help:

Washing (with water, no soap) daily, and taking a leak and washing after masturbation or sex will probably help, and you could also try Canesten cream or Daktarin cream.  Loose fitting cotton underwear may help, and some sites recommend washing underwear with non-biological washing powder or liquid.

A doctor told me it could be genital herpes ... anyways, do i need a perscription for those medications and are they safe to use?

Herpes?!?  I'm surprised the doc suggested that.  I'd consider seeing a different doctor if this doesn't clear up.

You don't need a prescription for those medications, and yes, they're safe.  Canesten is also used for female thrush and athlete's foot btw, and you can get it at any pharmacy.

I will try Canesten then. Thank you for the time and help. Hope this clears up.

Try Daktarin or Canesten obtainable from the pharmacy.
