When we speak of NSAID's  (Non-steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) we should also bear in mind the many creams, potions and gels that are also anti-inflammatories! It's no use having stem cell treatment which creates its own inflammation at the start, and using anti-inflammatory treatments at the same time.  The one cancels the other out! This could be why I felt my pain increased with use of Flexiseq! I am having stem cell treatment so cannot use anything that is anti-inflammatory. I tell you we can't win!

My regenerative doctors say that the natural anti inflammatories are fine and do not harm the PRP or stem cells. It is not certain why but these natural compounds in spices and foods and supplements (like curcumin/ turmeric) and beneficial. The pharmaceudical anti-inflammatories inhibit the healthy inflammation cascade.

jeffharms  I just saw where you write of bone marrow stem cells!  am NOT having this. My stem cells are my own plasma so no fear or risk of rejection. I cannot speak for the marrow injections. I have my blood taken in normal fashion, it is then put into  a centrifuge which separates the plasma (white cells) from the red. Then this is injected into my knee joint. It is reckoned it might be one year before any difference is felt. There is now a new injection of hyaluronic acid and the white blood cells together. I guess you could read about it on REGEN MATRIX via Google who has everything there is to know.  The hyaluronic acid is a very viscuous substance which is reckoned to form a 'cushion' in the joint, preventing bone-on-bone grating pain. Together it is believed one relieves this grating and the other goes to the area of pain. I can't sa yet if this combination works and I go tomorrow for it in the second knee. For pain I use ice and am on Fentanyl patches. I have not heard of bone marrow injections for the knees but I guess they work the same as for other joints. How are things now?

seeing doctors to prepare for hip replacement in february.

no amount of viscosity between joints can improve a ball and socket that just don't match.  it's like a square going in a round hole.!

You are having PRP but not stem cell injections. The platelets are extracted from your blood and reinjected. Stem cells are harvested from the bone marrow and then mixed with the platelets for a proper stem cell procedure. The PRP treatment attracts stem cells but is not a stem cell injection. In cases where the damage is very advanced the educated doctor will recomment the stem cell procedure instead. Hips however are not very successful unfortunately.

jeffharms the stem cell therapy can take over a year. Patience is what is needed and there are bad days and good ones. One good thing is that there is no side effect as it is your own blood.

I'm in the UK, we aren't even told about stem cell therapy.  All we get told is take ibuprofen or paracetamol and pushed out the door.   The joys of socialised medicine with no money in the pot.

I'm in the UK also, and talked with someone who said that it's done in Germany and the USA.  She mentioned that it's an expensive procedure.

      (this is hearsay)

Not covered in the US either.  All out of pocket for the most part for major joints.

Thanks everyone.  Keep posting your experiences.  This is our first line of defense against missinformation etc.  There's no consumer report I can find for this stuff.  And the field is rapidly changing.

I keep feeling the stem cell injection into the hip we had was too experimental for our level of emergency... and I wish doctor blecher had told us that.  Any real interview with my mom would have made it obvious, I believe.  Instead it was like "wait and see."  I fear they just wanted our money and to have another case study perhaps?

But I guess I've said that already on here.

Have had shoulder, both knees done once with extra big toe and base of hand joint below thumb all treated I would say with extremely high success.  100% for retracted shoulder tear, knees and all joints did well.  I worked like crazy kneeling, cutting trees down and carrying heavy loads to the street for pickup and reinjured my left knee for which I just underwent my fourth treatment for (1 full blown stem cell+3PRP treatments).  However after the first treatment I walked into a steel bar that really really hurt injuring the left knee but no fracture.  My original MRI before this second battery of treatment for the left knee showed terrible problems with the knee joint you name it from A-Z multiple tears, ligimant tear, arthritus everything.  Reading it a novice would conclude I was toast, but the only symptom I had was a bit of pain in the joint on the medial side of the knee.  So you cannot go by totally by MRI because as one ages we all have tears, arthritis etc. that cause these pains.  I ran over 30,000 miles and work hard, keep fit at the gym not overweight and in good condition but older.  So bottom line, stem cell can help greatly.  Not necessarily forever because of aging process.  Nothing is for sure though.

To clarify the above the fourth treatment noted above was three years in 2013 after the shoulder and two knee treatments describede above.  Now undergoing the fourth treatment this year 2016 during the past three  months since April.  Currently my left knee is problematic with what has happened and the treatment is not working as the others did, but realize I had a terrible fall after the 2016 stem cell first treatment  for the left knee , but the circumstances are different and we are not finished yet.  I decided to take Tylonal Arthritis the past few days with amazing results for the pain.  Can now sleep and walk so much better.  Sorry for the long story but been through a lot of treatment and know a lot about all of this since studying it for 4 years.

I won't be doing stem cells and we have them here in my town....but still thinking on the oxygen/ozone injections.....

BUT in the mean time I'm working more with Rose Hips 750mg caps which address pain and stiffness.....

Making sure about the B6 for all PAIN issues and now take 50mg two times per day.....I posted this info on my rose hips posting....  100-200mg B6 is safe for ALL adults with pain issues....I have a book Vit B6 Therapy.

You can find B6 books online.

B3 Niacinimide is also called for Arthritis and I take 250mg per day.

Stem cells are VERY costly and I don't have that in my budget.   Oxygen/ozone is more affordable, BUT if I can work with all the above maybe I can avoid any more injections.......Joy

Joy there appears to be confusion on here between stem cell therapy using patients own white blood cells - plasma - and using BONE MARROW. These are two separate issues. I am doing the first one. Plasma is put in centrifuge. Then injected into the painful joint. I can't believe this costs a bomb as there's so much physicalls to do other than taking blood and injecting it into the area of pain. Marrow bone is FAR most expensive. Joy you state stem cells are IN YOUR TOWN... Is this correct? I will try to find Rose Hips and will begin Vitam B 6. I am ready to try any alternatives as stem cells don't sppear to have helped. But I am also aware that my specialist is not well informed about them. I do the reading of it all as he has too much on his hands. I had not heard about B3 Niacinimide but have all the Vitamin B's aside but don't take them. I am now on Collagen 6,000mg per day. Huge to swallow but seem to be an aid to losing some weight which is also paramount with knee arthritis. Good chatting like this.  Best wishes to all.

There are  many who do the PRP and Stem Cells (from bone marrow) injections here in So. Calif....these are forms of prolo and I've done dextrose prolo over years and got some relief in less chronic areas...

I'm still thinking on the oxygen/ozone injections as they are abundant here too in So. Cal.  BUT, with the ligament/tendon supp I take going on 3 months now, and doing MORE rose hips and the B6.....HOPE HOPE I can save myself a lot of money.

Stem cells and PRP are very costly....great if they work, but no guarantees and often times more are needed....great if one is wealthy...

I take Niacinimide 250mg daily for arthritis and also a collagen for a year soon....it's a granule and I add it to food and drinks....

We keep trying and trying and trying....Joy
