sterilised 2 years ago, nothing but pain since

hi

i was sterilised 2years ago but had nothing but pain since. i have been in and out of hosptail had test ,but still in alot of pain , the pain seems to get traped in the right hand side of my tummy i have taken mst codeine phosphate tabs. but does not help the pain, can any one tell me if there is anything else i can try , at the moment it hurts to move with the pain, had doctor out last night but he didnot what to do for me . i really do wish that i never had it done, if anyone thinging about having this done ,then my advice is DONT

    My first guess is that there may be adhesions from the surgery. This can happen with any pelvic surgery, not just tubals. I developed pain from having a cyst removed. I had a tubal several years later, which actually lessened my pain as they were able to clean up some of the scarring. So this is not necessarily to do with the tubal.

    Adhesions will often not show up on imaging technology. Please ask your doctor about this possibility.

    I was sterilised when I was 26 years of age, and since then, I have had numerous back,stomach problems, I have had pins & needles, numbness down my right side, I have seen various doctors, had scans,mri etc, I was told I had kidney stones, or it could be MS, I was referred to various doctors, as I was told I had Hypermobility, my problems occured straight after having clips put in when i was sterilised, I kept asking my gp, could my health problems be because of the clips, I was told NO,I have recently had another scan to check for kidney stones, only to be called back to my gp, the results came back which is worrying, I was told my liver, spleen and kidneys have cyst on, also lesions, I am gobsmacked, as I dont drink or had an accident, but to top it all the doctor had asked me if i have been sterilised, i said i have , the clips which should only be 2, but in my case i have about 4, which are floating around in my system, i asked him could this be the problem , he is not sure, but did say, he was concerned about the clips, I am now 55, and can honestly, have never been this ill, this has affected my walking, sitting, I suffer daily withe xcruciating pain, and without warning, i have projectile vomiting, always suffer from bloating, fever, hot flushes, it is worse at night, i don't sleep, cant get comfortable,constantly feel as though i want to pass water, every water test I have had for the last few months, shows blood.

    I have been running my own business for a few years, but i am finding it extremely difficult to get myself going, I have gone on the internet to search if anyone else has suffered similar to myself, and I must say I am in awe, just to how many other ladies have suffered just ;like me, I don't know how the doctors can say these clips have nothing to do with our symptoms.

    I am extremely worried now, to know what will happen, especially as I now have these cysts on my iver and,spleen & kidneys, can anyone give advice, my doctor has now referred me to a urologist, he did say to me, that i have to have an ultra sound, and he needed to prioritse who to write to first, I just couldnt take in what he was telling me, as I only went to get results for kidney stones.

    I am now worried, could this be Cancer, please any advice would be a great help, and has anyone else had the same symptoms

    my next hospital appointment is the 19th may, this is the earliest appointment i could get, and by the way it is out of my area.

    Well i had my children all with c sections n the last one was a year ago ever since i got sterilised at same time ive had nothing but pain n trouble with my periods and sudden gushing of bleeding episods it just so bad i get soaked through been dr n theyve done all sorts scans n test because i have other medical issues from my past wich also started after my 3rd child after my 3rd baby i got seriously poorly i ended in icu n on deaths door after being in a coma for 3 weeks n all dr said to my husband its related to my c section but never admitted the real reason well thank god i made it thru but ended up loosing my feet left only ankle remaing n right partial then 3years later i got pregnant n wanted to have baby as termination was not answer so we decided ill get sterlised at same time n that instead of lessing my problem has made thing unbareable unexpected bleeding when i get oeriod it doesnt stop until i take tablet from dr somtimes all month im bleeding im so tired of it its just added to all my other medical issues instead of making things better

    I too, was sterilised. I had the Essure devices placed into my Fallopian tubes under GA. I suffered from day one with the pain and bleeding. Metal taste in my mouth. Pain with sexual intercourse. Spotting blood all the time. Severe pain shooting down my legs. Constant back pain. Itchiness all over my body. I went from an extremely active and healthy 30yo mother to 3 children, to being in constant pain and having to resort to taking powerful pain relief. It slowly was poisoning me! I have an allergy to nickel... Turned out this device is made from it! I had to have a hysterectomy to remove the coils, as they are extremely delicate and any fragments left behind could potentially leave me in more pain and trouble than it was worth. If any lady has Essure and has issues, please join a facebook support page called~ Essure problems UK and Ireland. At the moment the sterilisation device has been given a black box warning! The list of side effects are huge and ladies and E-babies (we call them e-babies due to being conceived with Essure) have died!!!

    Although a year on, l,d like to add that my pain an health problems started following my second planned csection with sterilisation, staples used on cut l think recall. Woke with catheter in, bloodied, severe pain, did come round later in day, but then had uti, which took them 3days to treat, it being dismissed as post op symptoms, put on anti bs, later go home still on them, then ill, gp out, blood clots and infectioin, pills for both, But from there on lve had frequent moderate severe intense pain, varies according to time of menustration, along with general poor health, more prone to bouts of tiredness nausea, generally not been as fit since, back ache common, frequence soreness discomfort with intercourse, l was many years later diagnosed with i ntersticial cysitus, by scope anaschetic, l did improve a bit after the scope and with the meds l was put on improved 90percent over a couple of years, But never got back to being fit and healthy as before. How much was due to bladder or gyny or what caused it all l dont know, even if drs do theyve not told me, Now along with the ic, ibs, allergies, and in recent times fibro myalgia. l, m not saying it happens to all of course, but for some for whatever reasons.  Seems to me men have less after affect problems thats go on long  term, so l think twice before sterilisation

    Hello i have 3 beautiful children i was forced into having a sterlization and i have clips down i am getting sharp pain i can barley walk i can hardly bend or relax or lay on the right side i have been fobbed off  with tramdol and codine which does not do nothing as the pain is to much i have been to hospatil as i cant cope with the pain  i get pins and niddles in the side and it horriable i have my doctor fighting my case to get my reversal but  the hospatil has said i need to be referred to gyni as they need to deal with this matter as i cant cope i cry in pain and my mood swings go as well been im in pain i dont mean to take it out  to ppl i love but i am crying out for help as i am striuggling putting the brave face on but inside me im destroyed! cry

      Bless you I've been in hospital had lots of blood loss down below and terrible pain. I wish i never got it done.

      yes i have had my periods up and down and i have had nausea and bloatness and tender of the breasts and etc they are fobbing me off with Tablets

      have you had a scan or scope, lve had simular, and yuo need to see gyny as soon as possible, ask gp if he can mark you down as urgent, you need to know why its going on. mine ws put down to post op after seecond cs sterilisation, then hormonal, then phycalogic, l,d thrush, anemai, then gall bladder pain and removal, ld aged, due to constant pain, from moderate one week a month, to severe one week, around my new heavy periods. my gp ws uselss, gyny not much better, l paid to see him twice ended up haavuing laprascope, made me worse, then hysterectomy, made no difference apart from no menustration which was a trigger for severe bout, as was intercourse and other things, l was in some sort of discomfort all the time, also affected by it in anxious, depressed, restricted with couldnt books hols, l,d also get furious, kept as much from kids as possible, got camper van so we could go off on spec according to how l was, not longer fit couldnt run jump walk far. l ws also desperate and writing to experts, years went by, l,d hysterectomy and it went on years.  Eventualy a new gp did send me to urologist as l,d frequency and pain with no bacteria fouund eventully scoped showed intersticial cystitus, and l got pills for it, no cure by meds did help 90percent, l also think yuo can get damaged nerves with csection, some are unlucky, some do fine with them.  l know l,d years of my life go by with frequent pain poor health frequent bouts of fatigue, nausea, other stuff, restrictiions, knowing what l did in the end l would have never put up with it for years la also had flooding an clots, bouts of nausea, loss of appeite, tender breasts, like sally wished l,d never had it done, thiking after why didnt , it toook so much away, left me living like a semi invalid, affected my marriage, my kids, with a lot iof effort kept us together and kids as free from seeing me ill as l could, l should have put complaints in to anyone and everyone in authority. no one should be left with symptoms that affect lifestyle and family so badly for years on end, shocking, rich persons or status would make sure they got diagnoses. Yours could be for a very different reason to mine, l guess there are lots of reasons for symptoms, could be nerve damage or hormones to do with a clip, allsorts can cause pain poor health, might be, uterus, endo, you need a scan and scope asap, ask for them, keep on at them till you get attention tests and diagnoses,  treatment, if your in a position to do it go private, not cheap think 150, but it would rush a scan scope, dont give up hope, just keep at them to get on with things. and ask gp to try something stronger for pain, let yuor kids help by disracting you best you can cope with, hope youve a partner to help with practicals, and maybe go in and talk to drs with you, we need support, not always at your best with  gps if youir in pain or feeling ill, keep battling and keep hope,

      Nobody should be forced to be sterilized, man or woman. Who forced you? I am a man who was coaxed into having a vasectomy, ever since I have had so much pain, at first I was told " it was all in the mind " The nhs used to say problems were very rare then it became one in a thousand, then one in a hundred and now one in ten.It is only the internet that has given us, such as most of the 69 replies, a chance to voice our open opinions on sterilization. Do NOTt have a VASECTOMY.

    It's almost 9 years since i was sterized, I have done so many tests and utrasound sound but they say nothing is wrong. I have been on different medications but no improvement. I just hope someone will come up with the solution coz it's been hell and the older i get the more pain i experience and heavy bleeding. If only i can turn the clock back.

    Hi I was sterilized 7 years ago and since then I have had nothing but pain in my right side.i have been in hospital more times than I can remember but got no answers .Been told it's menstrual cramp.renal colic and more or less in my head .I have had tramadol.codeine .naproxen .the only thing that eases the pain is morphine which my gp won t give me as he thinks I will abuse it .all I want is to get on with my life and not worry about the pain kicking off.i would defo not advise a sterilization .can anybody suggest any other pain relief .tia x
