I use Dermovate, I was using it twice a day instructed by my GP, but I saw the gynaecologist yesterday and she says just once a day and use hydromol cream in the morning, so I am on day one of that,. How long have you had this I was diagnosed a week ago?

Thanks for your reply. I had LS for about 5 years. I was diagnosed very quickly thank goodness. Used steroids straight away which helped but then stopped working. I changed my diet (no sugar, dairy or gluten) and it went completely. Unfortunately it has returned (I think it’s LS again) and was wondering about using a steroid again. My diet is still very strict so I don’t know why this has happened. Post menopausal for 3 years so don’t think it’s hormones. I’m trying some other stuff first and if they don’t work, steroids. Also looking into MLT and PRP.

I have dermovate in my arsenal. Make sure you are prescribed ointment, not the cream, the ointment has a vaseliney texture, the thing that makes the creams white can cause sensitivities and also it doesn't stay on the skin as well as the ointment. rub in the ointment for at least 90 seconds for a better result, preferabelyu after a bath or shower. I use Epaderm instead of soap to wash down below, and also carry a small pot of it to 'wash' with if I have to use a toilet where there isn't a hand basin in the cubicle. It can be soothing to just apply if you are itching, it's a standard eczema remedy. You can buy it over the counter, about £12 for a big 500g tub, or get it on prescription. It has no fragrances in. I reacted to Dermol which is the one most commonly prescribed - I think it has fragrance in it, so many things do.
I also use borax spray and will sing its praises - you can get it in the UK, from soap making craft stores. I ordered mine on Ebay from the USA and it arrived (be prepared to take the hit if it doesn't). You could also use bicarbonate of soda (didn't suit me, but plenty of others have good results with it).

Sorry just saw this.
I ordered some Borox from a soap making crafty place in Devon. It doesn't seem to do anything for me tho.
I will try the Epaderm for the itch! Thank you for your info
