Still can't bend pass 90 degree, why?

I'm still having lots of trouble bending my knee pass 90 degrees. I exercise the knee five days a week for at least 1 hour. I can't ride a bike or exercise on the elliptical machine without lots of pain. I, also, have pain toward the back and side of my knee, when I first get up from a sitting position. I'm so frustrated and don't know what else to do to fix my problem knee. I have tried bending the knee pass 90 degrees and I stop because of the extreme pain. It feels like I'm going to break my leg. Am I going to stay like this forever?

It is still very early after the op it is a tough operation after all.  After my one year check I was told you can still benefit for a couple of years after.

i found a little pedicycle helped and stared using it at about the same stage very painful to start with as I could not go part the way but with medication and bloody mindedness managed to get it all the way around.  Be patient don't beat yourself up it will come - hey 90% is not to be sniffed at 👍

Are you on pain meds??? It's not a case of take them when needed. You need to take them until you are fully recovered. If you are on meds, then ask your doctor for stronger ones.  You will not be able to do your exercises if you are in pain.  If you try and tough it out and exercise through the pain barrier, the swelling will not go down, it is trying to protect itself, whilst you have swelling it will be hard to bend.  Do not stress about the bend, work on strengthening your quads. When you sit on the bike make sure the saddle is as high as possible so just your toes are on the pedals, engage the lowest gear and pedal using the stregth of your good leg and allow the recovering leg to go along for the rid.  If you still cant do it, pedal backwards for a little while.  You will not break the leg, it will not drop off, it wil not dislocate, but you do need to work the muscles to keep it stable. Go to your local pool and float until you are relaxed and then do some exercises. Stop exercising so much; you are NOT in a contest. Exercise every other day and in between incorporate your exercises into your daily routine.  Everything will fall into place, in its own time. Just don't put a time on your recovery, it will end up be longer. Learn to relax, how are you sujpposed to work on your muscles when you are tense

Everyone is making so much sense! I have fallen from 90+ to 85 this week, and 0 to 5 fur extension. Such a roller coaster!

Stick with it, as with life there are up days and down days.  Sometimes you do too much and the knee complains. And like a recalcitrant child it will rebel.  Just don't push back, go with the flow and be patient
