Stoptember - why wait.......

Hi my good people out there. I have been duffering from alchohol abuse for a number of years and recently decided to stop when my kids got taken from me. They now live their father. For me I realised I was focusing my emotions on my marriage instead of myself and kids. Now I am doing just that. I want my kids back home.
As it is the start of September, I am introducing this discussion group to encourage each other to be alchohol free for the whole month. However you must have a goal you want to achieve and more importantly do it for yourself. You are number one.
The idea is we check in everyday and share our stories for the day. Remember you are not alone. We can do this. Good Luck. S xx

Sorry. You've lost me.
I thought the Big Book of AA suggested One Day At A Time.
I wrote "Oh. I thought it was one month at a time." since the whole point of this discussion is giving up alcohol for a month. And then another month. And then another month....................until you're all CURED!
It was a JOKE, Sabrina.

It has a 90% failure rate, that is not good. They also do not advocate the use of medication to help, that is not good. They also feature heavily on god/higher power, and in the UK (this is a British forum) we are not really religious and believing in a higher power, so that isn't really good either.
Telll me, are you in the UK or the US?

The very notion is enough to make someone turn to drink! I don't get this at all

You found it at last, dearest.
I mean, it only took you seven hours, so that's pretty good considering what we went through last night.....................

Good job you're not suffering with AUD, then, or your months of not drinking would collapse after a day.
In fact, A DAY AT A TIME.

The meetings are also incredibly boring. I know this because I went to a few with Jim.
We were boggled at how people could just ramble on.......and on......and on......about nothing.
Also, we discovered that people get addicted to AA! They go to three meetings a day, every day. I think I'd rather continue drinking. That's if I did in the first place........

He'll accept it. He's a nice bloke. And he accepted my apology and I was worse than you. And he apologised to both of us for calling us trolls.
I think we know who the real troll was...............................

I thought you weren't allowed to send photographs on this site. Well, not of your pubes, anyway.
As flipping usual, we have taken over someone else's thread. Typical.
Better stop now and go and tak over someone else's thread.
