Success on Citalopram😁

I just wanted to feed back to you all how wonderful I am feeling week12 on citalopram 20 mg

This is my second time on this drug since 2013. With hindsight I should never really have come off it but stayed at a very low dose .

I spent hours..again ...researching the internet in the early stages. This time it took 6 weeks until I started to feel better. It had taken only 2 the first time

Yes I had all the side effects and felt much much worse whilst my brain waited to rewire  itself in those initial weeks

It may not be the drug for everyone but it's worked wonders for me 

So I just wanted to comfort and give empathy to those of you out there who are still on their journey

My path is now much straighter

      GIllian you are so caring an comforting.I have struggled on and off for 30 years, mainly intrusive thoughts and anxiety. I have always eventually done really well on clomipramine but it has been discontinued in UK. Started back on it last mid September then had to change to sertraline after Christmas because no longer available. After 2 weeks had to come off sertraline as caused horrendous rectal bleeding.Changed to mirtazapine, after 2weeks on this developedal pancreaticis and was nearly hospitalized. I have now started citalopram, on day 4 at 20mg your stories are so encouraging. I really hope these work.

      I have been diagnosed as suffering from a Health Anxiety. Since last Thursday my dose of Citalopram was increased to 40mg. For the last 2 weeks up until Sunday evening I was on Xanax. Monday and most of yesterday were good days, but then I started going down and today was not a good day. didn't sleep well last night as there was a load of gas in my tummy and I was flatulating. I was told it would be a week or 2 for the Citalopram to work. Is it possible I am starting to suffer from Xanax withdrawl symptoms? I am worried the citalopram increase won't work.

      How long have you been on at what was your dose before you upped to 40? Why did you increase? I'm currently on 20 wondering if I need to up my dose is the reason that I ask.

      the Celexa gives gas ☺ it's 1 off the many side effects that it gives

      hope u feel better soon

      it's good that u have Xanax it helps with the anxiety attacks

      that this pill give u

    How would I know if I need to increase my dose? Currently on 20.

      if u need to ask do u need to increase?

      i work happily on 20 mg

      always have

      citalopram does give u flatulance anyway

      you have to employ life skills as well as drugs

      get out and about

      exercise

      get some sun

      depressives needto seek social situations not withdraw

      just up date a bit over 2 weeks on 5 MG Celexa and going off it tomorrow like u mentioned in ur last response back to me , thank u again

      hope u having fun on ur holiday and stay safe

      what u think enough time to do so , get off after 2 weeks ?

      You have come off it slowly which is good

      I an still on it and will always need something but ...

      we are all different in our needs

    I'll be on 1 week tomorrow on 5mg Celexa got 1 more week to go before completely being off

    thank u again for all ur u elp

    u think 2 weeks will do it now that I'm recoverd

    so happy and excited to be off this meds because I never had to be on anything in my life

    I do got to feel how many people feel having to be on some kind of this medicine

    it's hard and it takes a long time to work and the side effects, let's not talk about them horrible

    scary and so on . Well thank u hope to hear back from u soon about the question on 5 MG good 2 weeks ☺

    just update to let u know that I am on day 9 of 5mg Celexa ☺

    yes cut with a pill cutter as u say to do , works good

    This is the first day that I am not only feeling OK in the

    evenings ☺ but also morning and afternoon so far 😍

    yes still need help here and there with a lorazapam 0.5 MG for anxiety

    but getting there amen . I be on the 5 MG Celexa for 2 weeks like u

    mentioned in a letter to me not so long ago , thank u again for ur response

    After 2 weeks we see how I am doing ☺ may stay longer on it if I'm doing

    Okay on it . What u think about all this ? Yes I am recovered from depression I

    never had in my life before , so can't wait to get off it all . As u know never been on any AD

    meds, had to being to getting sick with something inturnel that gave me anxiety and

    not much later depression. I am healed now took only 2 weeks for the healing by a

    naturalist lady Kay ☺ , but by that time had anxiety and depression already .

    It comes fast , it came though fear by me do to I was sick 3 years ago for 1 year with

    Inturnel intestinal problems. So thought I had the same time to wait to be healed

    so anxiety came and depression. So have been on Celexa for 1 year on different

    MG and month so in that time I recovered and getting slowly off the Celexa 😊 before the 5 MG I was on 20 MG for 5 month then 10 MG for 3 weeks and now 5 MG going slowly off

    I'm on day 12 now on 5 MG Celexa still get side effects normal ????

    Like anxiety attacks and crying , heartburn , headache and shakes normal

    Not bad but they are there 😡 I also have lorazapam to help me with

    the anxiety and crying . I was told that I don't need to be on the Celexa any longer

    So I will be on the 5 MG Celexa like u succested for a few more days ☺ then

    go off completely. Will I have even then side effects as I am off the Celexa completely

    I was told yes , because it has to work itself out of my body slowly

    what do u think or anyone on this side here ????? Any answer welcomed ,

    questions, do I have to wait for side effects to be gone before I get off the 5 MG Celexa for good ?

    I'm starting on week 3 but thinking about getting off the Celexa soon

    I am recovered from anxiety and depression I got from being sick

    so what's ur thought ? I know I will have some side effects in the time of not taking Celexa anymore , because it's working itself out of my body .
