Success on Citalopram😁

I just wanted to feed back to you all how wonderful I am feeling week12 on citalopram 20 mg

This is my second time on this drug since 2013. With hindsight I should never really have come off it but stayed at a very low dose .

I spent hours..again ...researching the internet in the early stages. This time it took 6 weeks until I started to feel better. It had taken only 2 the first time

Yes I had all the side effects and felt much much worse whilst my brain waited to rewire  itself in those initial weeks

It may not be the drug for everyone but it's worked wonders for me

So I just wanted to comfort and give empathy to those of you out there who are still on their journey

My path is now much straighter

Good luck all

    Hi Gillian176

    How are u

I'm on day 13 of 25 MG Celexa , was wondering if the side effects are the same bad and long as going up on the meds

I'm trying to do as u wrote me to do

Also would it be wrong to stay on 25 MG for a time and see how it works for me ?

Stay on that for awhile then go down to 20 MG slowly

    thank you babsyboo

    Hi gillian176

    Have a ??????

U write u had all the side effects the second time on Celexa

may I ask what they were ?

Because I had so many and still have some after all I been though with the Celexa

I'm on 5 weeks 25 MG but before that amount of Celexa I was on 10 MG for 10 days then 15 MG for 8 days then 20 MG for 4 weeks then 30 MG for 7 weeks and then back down to 25 MG for 5 weeks now and all by Dr approved

so all of the different weeks and amount do they count as almost 6 month or do I only count the 25 MG I am on now for 5 weeks

how does this all work , please help me as I am wondering if I ever be myself again

thank you for your reply back babsyboo

every time you change dose up or down is like starting again.the brain has to figure out the dose changes and that takes many many weeks or months.you will experience all kinds of bizarre side effects .

Me too ! it took years I mean a decade to finally get better because of Citalopram!

It was the Only med that relieved horrible, debilitating depression.

Now I use Botox too. Jeez, is this how normal people feel? almost like waking from a coma, really.

Hello everyone. Thank you Gillian, I'm happy to hear that you are feeling better with Citalopram. Depression is such a dreadful illness to suffer from, and it's really assuring and pleasing each time we hear that someone of us has won the fight.

I kindly want to ask if anyone here has experienced tremor as a side effect? In particular lips, neck, and facial tremor, especially under pressure (the tremor is mild and unseen by others, but you can feel it). This is my 11th week on 10mg Cipram. Before the medication, I didn't experience any tremor in the lips or in the face.

    Thanks

I call them shakes ☺ u call them tremor , same thing ☺ they are scary to me but many say that all the side effects from Celexa can't hurt u .

      Hello babsyboo 😃

Thank you so much for your reply, actually yes no one has responded but you. Your reply is so comforting and assuring, thanks again 😃

It seems that we are not the only ones that are experiencing such side effects, I've been searching the Internet since nearly a month, and I came across this discussion thread via Drugs. Our mates there are adding a new word -tics- to our (tremor-and shaking terms) to describe the feeling. You'll find it assuring and comforting I'm sure 😃

Thanks again babsyboo, I wish you all the good health and recovery
