Sudden gall bladder pain

Hi everyone,

I have been controlling my gall bladder pain by moderating my food intake. No fatty foods, food not highly spiced. Eating more green vegetables and drinking more water.

But today for some unknown reason out of the blue after my lunch 2 small plain rolls with ham I started to get that searing pain in my upper stomach which makes me want to lie down and makes focusing on my work impossible. I instantly took a lanzaprazole and put a hot water bottle on my stomach which is helping.

What do you do when you get an attack like this.

Thanks

Fat forty and fertile.. That was me lol...I watched what I was eating and ate no fat to speak of,salads, fruit and porridge...then like a few people have said it comes to a stage where there is no option but to remove gallbladder... I didn't understand what I had done wrong eating wise the night I was admitted to hospital, my gallbladder was inflamed and they had me on the operating table within an hour of having a scan, all this talk of controlling attacks is I believe just delaying the inevitable ,it's not healthy to live on a fat free diet and I did it for months and lost loads of weight while waiting on scan appointment and those stressed my liver that it's taken 12 weeks post op for my liver function to return to normal, I know I've said it a few times on here but don't put up with the pain, visit accident and emergency everytime you have an attack because one day you may get lucky like I did and a surgeon was available to deal with it straight away... Careful eating still made me end up with acute cholesystitis so I'm afraid once the gallbladder starts to play up its just a matter of time before things get worse and what usually were safe foods and pain management don't work...x

Ham can be high in fat

but look back what you had over the last few days

my problem erupted after new year and when I look back it was two weeks of higher fat intake.

like you I'm on the low fat diet but I have found eggs can affect me

also I had mackerel which set me over

I have found that I can have problems if my fat intake increases over a few days

I have sludge in my gallbladder so maybe this is why I tend to get problems after several days

    hope this helps
