Sudden Left Shoulder pain and arm pain

So sorry to read about your troubles. Have you ever been tested for celiac disease and other forms of gluten sensitivity? Many are misdiagnosed with costochondritis when gluten is the real culprit. Just google costo celiac misdiagnosed to see what I mean. Good luck.

Hello, I have been dealing with sharp chest pain for a about two years and still don’t know what it is. I have had an ecg and also ct... this is very uncomfortable and I rarely get a break. It feels like my chest needs to pop but instead I have sharp pains depending on my movement. 

I had so many pains for 2 years before being diagnosed with costochondritis. I'm still looking for opinions on the matter as my docotors seem like the dismissive types as I've had many pains and problems for years. But I do have some symptoms that can match costo but can also match a number of other things.

So symptom wise.

Rib pain - I get it below the breast and can't wear a bra anymore due to it pressing on a pressure point and agro-ing the crap out of my condition. The worst I've had it just for the ribs would be all of them on the left side of my body only. Effecting my breathing, walking, talking. The entire side was so painful and tight sometimes I'd be at my desk just swiviling in my chair holding my ribs wondering what was happening to me. I find to go without helps some I have a degree or so less pain and my pain stays fairly constant in whatever it is for the day if I'm not agro-ing it further with something else mood or labor wise.

Voice - This is something I don't hear reported but I had such a hard time speaking I was a whisper when I was screaming at everyone to litterly be heard as only just above a whisper! My lovely doctor at the time wasn't worried about this issue that was effecting my job big time! I also lost the ability to project my voice due to the rib and side tightening.

Breast/Chest area - Varied all day long moment to moment the pain points sometimes stabbing, sometimes dual but incredably achy danced all around the side of my chest under my arm pit, over the collar bone (very painful here) the flat portion of your (female) upper breast under the collar bone (also very painful) the thightness here would be like a circle of pain and tightness growing and shrinking moment by moment. All that with an over all tightness that would go from moderate to severe further restricting my voice like mad and forcing me to breathe shallowly

Muscle tightess - only on my left side in addition to the chest and full ribcage it would move down to my right hip and all the way to my left leg till the knee all of this effected breathing, walking, talking, driving, sleeping ( I could no longer sleep on my left side.) If I slept on my left side I would stop breathing or I would be in such severe pain after just a moment it wasn't worth it!

Arm pain - my left arm at first it was just the shoulder in tightness with the collar bone (again very painful) this effected movement I couldn't carry a purse on this side either the purse weight on the shoulder or it resting on my left side at all made it hard to move, harder to speak, breathe, ect.

Face - I had coldness, tingling and muscle tightness on (guess?) the left side of my face from jaw to temple an odd one making it difficult to feel things and annoying me when speaking.

The pain grew with nerve cold and tingling slowly tightening in the bicep.

Spending nearly 2 years in this state with pain 24/7 I finally had a panic attack at work. That attack put shooting shocking ice cold pain down my left arm and leg well then they were in on it too! I lost my job not long after but by this point the left arm was in so much daily shock, pain, and tightness it stretched from shoulder to fingers and if I was too stressed out I could get the same in my left leg essentially I was unable to walk or move my left arm or breathe or have anything to weighty on that side or speak beyound a whisper my docotor dispite my returns to my doctor they were unconcerned with all these symptoms just chalking it all up to costo.

Now I've been living with it 5 years total. I just now got my left arm back 3 months ago the painful shocking is in spots in my bicep. I'm learning this pain can be from both costo and anxiety and when I get actively anxious I get increased pain in my left arm, rib, chest.

The newest issue I found is while I do have anxiety still from that panic (and multiple there after) I'm currently the majority of the time outwardly and concious mind calm aka I'm not scared or worried about most things I do not overly react to things that don't require it however I have a subconcious anxiety it seems which is generating some of the pain in conjunction with the costo.

I still have rib pain I've yet to have a day where the ribs below my breast are taking a break and not hurting me it's the same ones all the time about 3 fingers worth of rib down under the breast. The left rib can get worse but usually my daily pain is 3 fingers worth. I've had sparatic times where the back of my right rib hurts and the pain starts to feed round to the front from there. I've only found 1 other person who reported this migration.

Otherwise my voice is still finiky coming and going with the pain or tightness of the left chest, rib, or arm. I've recently this month have started to get a new pain in the chest in that spot just above the breast but under the collar bone the feeling of pulsing or fluttering of the muscle with some heart palpatations feeling like its coming from the left side only of the heart as well I don't know what to make of it but every new doctor I see and tell seem to not be concerned they're like well you're still alive and that's the same motto I use if the pain in the left arm and chest get too bad in order to not freak myself out thinking I'm having a panic or heart attack so it's fun. But I thought I'd still post everything I've experianced thus far incase I have some less known or talked about issues.

hi, i have all these symptoms! im going out of my mind with worry thinking its my heart!! o get alot of burning pain middle of chest but mainly located in left breast. i have a tender chest to touch (have for few years now) GP last year said sounded like costo, not much else was done. i get what seems like indigestion type pains in left ribs and chest. pulling feeling in left arm also tingling in fingers, shoulder hurts to move it...full upper body feel sore! as well as my upper back. pains in best are scaring me..keep checking for lumps but also think it could be my heart! had ECG 2 years ago...all fine. do experience palpitations on and off. neck is sore as well as i have TMJ. horrible
