Sudocrem

I had a posterior and perineum repair 4 weeks ago and have been feeling really well. I'm still having to wear a pad however the loss is now settled to a pinky/brown colour(sorry ladies!). My concern is that it's now quite watery and despite wearing a pad the area around my anus is feeling quite sore. My vagina is fine just just the anus area. I expect it's because the area is constantly warm and wet. Would a dab of Sudocrem be ok?

    Hi Gwen,

I found after childbirth when I was wearing pads for nearly 6 weeks the area around my anus got quite stingy & painful. Allowing the area to get some air a couple of times a day really helped so I'd lie on bed on a fresh towel after showering & just allow the area to breathe, if I had the time, I'd lie there for as long as possible before dressing. I'd do it at night aswell when going to bed, I'd bathe the area with warm water & pat it dry & then leave the area pad free for a little while before going to sleep. It seemed to do the trick.

    Hope this helps.

Thats a good point too. It's much better now as I only have to wear a panty liner! Having been a tampon girl (apart from after the girls were born ages ago!) I'd forgotten what it was like to wear a pad!

      Gwen
