SVT? Can anyone help?

Hi, for weeks I’ve had the same thing. At night I’m literally just dropping off nice and relaxed when my heart flutters and is followed immediately by a regular but fast heart rate that goes on sometimes for hours. I’m sure it’s not panic that’s causing this as I feel relaxed even when it happens but the GP says it’s all anxiety. I’m sure this is an SVT? Should I go back - again? Holter Meters never catch it and just show ectopics. It’s the flutter followed by fast heart rate that concerns me more than the odd ectopic. And thoughts greatly appreciated!

Good morning Alison I had the same thing where my heart would skip a few beats and then going to a fast heartbeat so I wore a monitor because I do have atrial fib  and they wanted to see if that indeed what it was  and it showed SVT the doctor didn’t seem too concerned he said we only worry if it doesn’t slow down or get up in the high numbers so you have to trust what the doctor says I mean what other choice do you have?

Thanks Diana. Frustrating though when the doctor just says ‘your stressed’ and that’s it. Do you do anything to calm it down when this happens?

Mine carries on for a few hours after. Drives me mad as often when I’m trying to sleep.
