Swollen lymph nodes for 7-8 years

Hello,
I'm a 22 year old male and as the title says I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpits for almost 8 years. It started when I was around 15 years old with a one or two nodes getting swollen in my neck. The GP said it was nothing so I haven't paid any more attention to them. Over the following few weeks I noticed a few more in my neck and a few in my armpits. They are around 0.5cm - 2.5cm in size, hard, painless and movable and haven't changed in these 7-8 years. I have no other symptoms.
Any help would be appreciated.

hey i've also experienced something pretty similar, I first felt a swollen node in my neck in 2011 - I was 18at the time. I then started noticing a few more in my neck. I consulted a doctor and had a few tests and everything was apparently in order. Then towards the end of the year I noticed nodes under my armpits and again started freaking out. Eventually after seeing a few doctors (my parents are also both specialised doctors), I was again told it's normal, dont worry etc... Then about a year later I got swelling under my tongue which kind of feels like nodes as well. I also have swollen glands under my jaw and below my ears.
Basically i've had and still have all of this going on and yeah it sucks and I get bad anxiety at times but i've kind of accepted that i'm going to have to get used to it because I think its permanent. I'm 23 now, i've never had any other side effects, i'm healthy and active. I've been tested for STDs like HIV which can cause swollen lymph nodes and ive turned back negative for everything.
So yeah i've had swollen glands for around 5 years now but no signs of anything malicious. As far as I can tell is they stay a consistent size as well and the only time they ache is if im prodding them constantly or have a cold or something.
So yeah I'm sure everyone who has them wants them gone as much as I do but all I can say is try not to stress.

hi , I got some advices:
Stop seeing those doctors, sue them for making u worry and wasting ur time too, get some profits from it lol
go to see a holistic doctor, tell them u have these lumps for a long time and u wanna get rid of it, they should be able to do it (these lumps are harmless btw, but stll very annoying, it freaks u out right? and make us differ from others too)
don't forget to thank me if it helps :D
good luck

Hi everyone, I am almost 32 yo now I had my first lump show up when I was 13 years old. I had more and more show up after that. I had them in my neck, right side left side collar bone area behind ear an in jaw line area. And many in groin area as well. At age 17 I had a biopsy done on the one behind my ear. When I was being cut open did my anxieties truly reach there peak. Almost put myself into shock. But the point is when the doctor cut me open and was a swollen vein and he obviously left it in there. It was a relief but yet I still had all the other one and the change my biopsy to and exploratorysurgery . So that ruined my thoughts completely for seeing a doctor for a long time. Some of them over the years have grown. But for the most part they haven't moved at all. But recently one on my right side next grew to the size of a grape and sticks out quite a bit. And scared the crap out of me all over again I see a specialist this Friday to have the ultra sound done on it. I have read stuff on the internet many times. Being as thought I have high anxiety. My fears were if that one was a vein maybe the some of the other are to and that they were blood clots. I've read that blood can get pooled in your neck and groan areas if you oxygen isn't functional well. I do not have any swollen lumps under arms or forearms as its been almost twenty years of having these swollen lumps and I do also see3 one in my sons neck that maybe this isn't the worst thing in the world but I still say something ain't right.

Oh my gosh.. I'm basically the exact same. I first noticed a swollen lymph node when I was 14. I noticed it on the left side of my neck and flipped out after googling it. I then noticed I could feel practically all my lymph nodes above my collar bone and in my groin. I went to the doc about the big one on the left side (size of a grape) and she did blood work, but never got it checked any further when it was normal. I told her it was still there, but she never called me back. Now I am 24 and they are all still there and all about the same size as they were. I have some SERIOUS anxiety about it too, but I'm terrified of doctors. I had a benign ovarian tumor that I was born with, but not diagnosed with until 3 years ago. It was removed, but the lymph nodes are all still there. I'm to the point now where I want to get them checked, but I made the mistake of googling it again... BIG mistake. But everything I read said life expectancy is like 5 years... so I already lived 5 extra years without treatment. No clue what to do. I need to get it checked, but I'm SO freaking scared it's no joke. Like... keeps me awake and I think about it all day. They don't hurt at all though unless I push on them and freak out (recently like everyday trying to convince myself I am not dying). Or if I'm hormonal my neck hurts, but my groin never hurts. Nothing on or under my armpits at all. My blood work was completely normal last year when my therapist did blood work to put me on anti anxiety meds. Someone please either save me from myself or force me to go to the doctor...

Really glad I found this forum, as I too have had swollen nodes in my neck and collar bone for over a year now. I'm currently waiting on the results of my most recent ultrasound - I've had maybe 4 scans, 4 blood tests, and an x-ray over the last year and am now on a 4 month check in schedule. Everytime I go I'm told it's fine but like most people here I have bad medical anxiety and the days leading up to my appointment are always brutal because I can't help thinking "maybe this is the appointment where my results don't come back normal". I worry to the point that I get motion sickness, headaches and general malaise and then I'm left thinking these are all symptoms of my lymph nodes. I can't get sick without attributing it to my nodes.
It's always comforting knowing that others are dealing with the same thing. I'm also glad to have found this forum because it seems to be the only place where swollen lymph nodes aren't a death sentence *cough cough mayoclinic*
Good luck to everyone!

I am shocked at how much I relate to you. I am 20 years old and have had these lymph nodes for over a year. I've seen 4 different doctors and they all brushed it of as if it's nothing
I have supraclavicle lymph nodes, 2 I can feel on the left which is harder to find. But the one of the right actually rests under the collarbone (infraclavicle). It's very very movable and actually slides on top of my collarbone and then behind it with little pressure.
Also a chain of lymph nodes all over my neck which I easily felt. I also have bone pains/uncomfortable sensation in back and ribs. Chronic Abdomen pains which can be severe and bad nausea. I have linked all this to my lymph nodes.
I've had an ultrasound of my abdomen which was normal (no lymphadenopathy)
Multiple blood tests where 2 showed I am anemic (low iron and satn?) and just recently had an ultrasound of my lymph nodes.
All this has made me feel so paranoid and anxious for the past year

I'm with you with thinking everything is your lymph nodes' fault. If I get an ear infection I'm convinced I'm dying of lymphoma.... going 10 years now without anything but blood work being done, but I literally have the same exact thing as you. Just way too scared to actually get it checked out. Let me know how your tests go!!!

Hi,
I've had neck pains for a few years now. Recently I went to my doctor and he found out one of my lymph nodes is inflamed. I took a blood test and am waiting for results. I'm a bit concerned, but at the same time this has been going on for almost 3 years, and I assume if it was something very serious, I would've been aware by now. I've had anxiety for my entire life and this isn't helping.

Long Story....Swollen lymph node on my right neck.
Started when I was quitting my smoking habit on april 1st this year.
Before that I was Healthy as a horse, no problem at all.
Untill one week later, symptom had come, to cut the story short,
I had go to multiple doctor in the same month, followed by the month after. Had a CT scan with contrast and the result turn out to be normal.
They all told me nothing to worry about, one after one and they all say the same thing...Since then I can't sleep at night..it's bothering me..
I had Health anxiety, fatique, dizziness, insomnia, constipation, headache, weight loss, weak, confusing etc..all my withdrawal symptoms had recover and i feel quite comfortable this month on august but not my neck. It's somekind of sore sensation in that area. It come and go, sometimes it trigger pinching sensation on my head...Sometimes it sore down to my right shoulder. When i touch my lymph node on my right neck under my jaw there I can feel it quite large then my left node. But the specialist doctor say some people had this kind of Lymph node, one large and one small..But it's quite disturbing because it causes sore in that particular area of your neck...I just had my blood sample taken last monday on the 15 and will having the result on this coming 29 august.
I had never been freak out in my intire life before! And also scrolling google to find answer is a bad idea. I had been lost my weight to 72kgs from 78/79kgs. But now my weight is back to normal 78.55 kgs since i managed to control my anxiety. But somehow, I still feel frustrated about it.

Hey are you rubbing or touching the lymph node quite frequently like 5-6 times a day or more because that's what I kept doing and I began to realise that if I left them for a couple of days I was fine pain free but if I rubbed them quite a lot they would become sore again so maybe that could be a possibility and also they are nothing really to panic about apparently 90% of swallow nodes are harmless and I was also told by my doctor they may have come after a infection that I wasn't aware of and just never gone back down also I have had mine now for two years and I have seen people say they've had them for 15-16 years hope this helps

Hi,
I guess maybe that is the cause, But i'm not sure.
I do rub and touch it frequently everyday because I was worried about it all the time. Started when I was checking my pulse on my neck after I quit smoking and I find out swollen lymph node on my right neck. It was a little large compare to my left lymph node in that time. No sore or any strobbing sensation on my right neck when I first discover it. Untill I was freaking out and touch it everyday then few weeks later it swell even more then before. Then I started to have this sore feeling on my right neck, And sometimes strobbing sensation. I do suspect it was because I touch it all the time and to cause it to trigger sore sensation and swell.
But it is almost 5 month now the sore feeling come and go. When everytime I was lying on my bed and the sore was gone! Strange...
CT scan with contrast even show No enlarge lymph node was found on my neck. But if you feel it with your bare finger, it was there. I had no idea, Doctor also seems not to care about it. They keep say don't worry, there is nothing threatening.
