Over the past year(s), I've noticed my urethral meatus is swollen and red - most notably on the right side. No other symptoms are present. I had the STD tests done, and a seperate blood test and urine test and they all came back negative. Here are some pictures, any ideas?

hi im 29 years old and from iran. i have this issue from 2 years ago after only 2 min unprotected relationship for. i study about 2 years and now guess this bumps is immunologic action against some viruses such as EBV CMV and etc .and called lichen planus i hope this information be usefull

Hello guys, I have recovered from this condition since one year now, so I think I can say I am done with this and I want to share this with you as I exactly now what your are going through..
I had this condition for 4 years, I went many times through all STD tests since it started 1 or 2 days after unprotected sex. Always negatives (including mycoplasma, looked in urethra and sperm as well). So as a first i would advise anyone to do those tests before taking any cure as a cure could interfere or bias the results.
Then I saw a lot of specialists : a dermatologist to check if this was a skin condition like Sclerotic Lichen or any like it. They took a skin sample on my foreskin for analysis and came back saying nothing was wrong. I also went to a neurologist specialized in genital area that concluded my condition was not related to the nerve system.
Facing absence of results many doctors conclude that my pain had to be psychological related and due to the fact that it started after unprotected sex while cheating my ex girl friend. I accepted it for a time but I have the feeling that it was something they never find out, maybe not known already or hidden by the different treatment or cure I had probably to soon before applying all necessary tests, or an echo chronicle inflammatory condition as I experienced the same swollen urethral condition.
Today its gone and I am so blessed cause I was very sad in my life and now I enjoy life again. I could not have sex anymore, was so very tired to hangout, my pain was almost constant and so disabling. Today I enjoy sex again and have a lot of energy.
So I am sorry cause I will not give a key solution to get rid of this instantly bit I will give hope. The good news is that the body is strong and will get rid of it on its own. But it will take time (3 - 5 years). The best you can do to help this is to have the best life style : watch out your food, practice sport to eliminate, drink 2l of water a day, sleep as you need (8h pd for me), avoid stress as much as you can. I personally quit my job 3 years ago to travel around the globe. I am not saying you should do that not at all but I think this helped me to reduce substantially my daily stress.
Just want to add that it didn´t disappear one shot. I experience hell during 3 years, then had first many lull episodes while I though I was done (1 or 2 month without pain) and today its probably more than one year I fell no more pain.
I wish everyone to recover asap as I know its very tough to deal with but never give up, be sure you will get rid of it guys.

hey jared i think i can diagnose your condition, do you had the problem of phymosis, because sometimes excessive pressure on the tip of the penis results into the similar looking penis as yours..

Hey, i have similar problem. After receiving oral and had sex i notice a little pain (like someone is pressing at the penis schaft) and a little burn but constant sensation at the opening of urethra. After a day or 2 i notice that my urethra was swollen similar to the picture.Also when i touched the penis head i felt a weird/painful sensation. I went to dermatologist and he said everything looks normal. After few days the burning sensation was becoming more intense especially when i drunk drinks or coffee. I went to Urologist 3 weeks later and he said that it looks a little bit irritated and he told me that my symptoms (not all) were like is urethritis or prostatitis and he prescribed me cipro and a cream called nysta local. I did std test and i was negative for all stds except cardnerella vaginalis ( i took flagyl before cipro). My symptoms are now better but due to stress( ithink) i felt like a cold sensation on tip of urethra scrotum and anus for like 2 days but is was gone when i diagnosed with urethritis. After taking medication for 4 days my symptoms are better i think. I still have a constant burning sensation (not while urinating but all time) but very mild and my urethra looks better. I hope i ll be okay asap but it was one month full of stress and anxiety. Tomorrow i ll go for urine culture to see if there is any left bacteria or something. I hope for all of us to get better by time. Though i think antibiotics helped me lets see in the future if it will permanent go away

Hey, now after a long time i feel good. The problem i think and thats why everything on test looks negative is that the problem began due some allergic reaction to glans skin. After that i put different things which made the situation worse. So i recommend not to put anything on glans and dont hear what everyone is saying in this forum. Now i left with peeled skin on meatus opening which i hope it will regrow at some point. It all started with swollen meatus lips but after i pit different creams the skin that was affected started to peel to a point that i think there is no more skin layer on those areas. I have a lot of foreskin (no phimosis) and i was never pulling back to clean etc. My skin therefore was sensitive. After i read this forum i started to pull the foreskin and cleaned the glans 2x times per day only with water which makes thing worse in my situation. Now i stopped doing that for few days and for a period of 4 months is the first time i feel normal again( i only have two lines without skin next to urethra opening). I think after the skin was peeling and due to friction for pulling back foreskin every time the urethra got irritated and thats why i had that kind of pain. It took long time though aprox 1 month after not putting anything for the burning sensation to stop so keep that in mind. Creams are not for everyone especially when there is not a reason to put like in my situation. I hope for you to get better and dont leave this forum ruin your penis 😉

just leave it just as it was before. I stopped putting anything or pulling back foreskin etc. and day by day is becoming normal. Is not completely yet but i feel much better. Im not putting anything for the last month and the last days i feel better. Just give it time and slowly slowly i believe it wiuld become normal again. The point as i said above is we all are different if doctors said that everything is okay then leave it as it was before. Everyone is different and i think none of us has a super rare disease that doctors cant find
