swollen vagina because of lichen or treatment?

I'm wondering if others can comment if they've experienced a swelling of the vagina with LS?  Or it could be due to the steroid (which I havent taken now for almost 3 weeks).  The only thing I've used is the coconut oil.  With that being all natural it seems strange that it would cause swelling and redness.

    Also look into what you're eating.  I'm for one react strongly to cheese and has triggered LS flare up.

      I find no connection. I need the cheese because of vitamin K and calcium as I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. My LS has never suggested a connection. So long as I use my Advantan fatty ointment I have no issues with LS.

      I am doing the opposite with osteoporosis. Don't trust the medications so looking at vitamins and food to boost my bone strength. Because the ointment is taking care of the LS, I have to boost my bones with dairy etc. I understand that people make individual choices. I do! Every person is balancing the whole person and that is what we need to do.

      You're very welcome Kathleen.  LS is no easy matter, add to that some other auto immune problems and life doesn't become any easier.  It's so often a puzzle to find - again - alternatives for the very nutrients the body needs.  Hope you can hang in.  Osteoporosis is no fun either.  I've found myself beeing caught between a rock and a hard place too often.  You cater to one health issue and than another health problem gets added to make things more complicated yet.

    Hi Sara, Coconut oil is slightly irritating for me I have used another popular remedy Emu Oil but that didn't do much for me either. I have used greasy barriers Vaseline and Auaphor but the one that has been best for me which I now use is Dermal an emollient lotion which is used both as a soap substitute and a moisturising lotion. It was recommended to me by another user and I find it is very soothing and works for me.
