Tapentadol - any information?

The doctor I saw at my local Pain Clinic recommend Tapentadol to help with the Chronic Pain I suffer from. Sadly my local Primary Care Trust has blacklisted this pain killer and the Dr. I saw at the clinic has since left. I wonder if any readers has any information about Tapentadol? I intend to request

funding as it seems this is the only pain killer I have yet to try. I'm reaching the end of my tether and can't cope with being in constant pain much longer.

    I am on Tapentadol 250mg twice daily & yesterday started taking 10mg of methadone tabs twice a day. I have been on Tapentadol 18 months & it worked really well for pain for 12 months but unfortunately I become tolerant to Meds really easy so it has not been working as well last 6 months. I was started on Duloxetine same time as Tapentadol but made me really ill so stopped it after 6 months. I am trying methadone as you cannot become tolerant to it so hopefully it will work for longer. I would like to hear from others on methadone as to what dosage they are on & if they have had any problems with it. My next option if this doesn't work is ketamine which I am hoping to avoid & a trial for a neuromodulation stimulator if I can get funding, but have got to have my intrathecal pump removed 1st.
