Teeth

one of my crowns broke and I saw my Dentist she decided to take an exray and said I needed a consultation with a Top dentist. I went yesterday and I have bone loss and infections and decay in my gums. Nothing to do with my oral hygiene which she said was very good. But possibly down to pred. I have to have two teeth removed and my implant may have to come out too and then see a specialists for gums. I Have always had my 6 month check ups.

any one else had this..

Dont get me  started on dentists!  My daughter was the dental nurse where i attended regularly. I had to go to another surgery as an emergency and asked if i went regular why i said because you need a lot of work to be done on bad dentistry. I managed to find a no win no fee firm who successfully got me money to pay for a lotta a lotta of work dont  trust any of them now

I have checked out "does prednisilone affect teeth" so many people having problems same as mine. If there is any chance that pred can cause bone loss in the gums surely Dentists should X-ray patients on pred to keep a better check to hopefully stop this happening.

From what I have learned by talking to people about the effects

of prednisone loss of teeth usually comes up some where in

the conversation.Your right dentists should keep a close eye on

their patients who are on pred

Too right.  I lost a filling a few months ago, never made the connection with pred.

Pred is a life saver for pain and inflammation but it has some

ugly side effects for long term use from what I have learned
