I have been told I need a tens unit for my other health issues for years. Maybe now I’m convinced. What makes sense is it would help blood flow to the area (like the dilators) so who knows! Really happy for you that it helped!!

I would also like more details on how you used the tens unit.   I am happy that you had such amazing results.

      HI Guppy and others,

I've had a friend of my mother's generation who is gone now... but she used to have terrible arthritis pain and whatnot... her Tens unit was the only thing that abated the pain.  I also have other friends who have used one. I live in the Asheville, NC area sometimes called the "Sedona on the East" so there is a large alternative community and lifestyle here. many therapists and functional medicine practitioners etc.  It is a fairly common item is what I'm saying.

I'm glad for anyone who finds a solution for themselves. BY the by, I'm feeling better after my little set back. Will post that discovery soon.

Oh GOSH, No no no, Lynn! don't even think that way!  chagrin. it may feel like that is the only option (!) until each of us finds our own bodies requirements. but you will I'm sure.

HEy, have you started the base line autoimmune supplements that I researched and posted?  We've all got to remember that ANY of the autoimmune diseases have been found to have so much in common that science is now saying that if you have one you are liable for 6 more.

SOOOOO, what that means ot me is that whatever cream or other we do for LS it pales in comparison to topping up our "nutritional tank" requirements. To be clear here: the vitamin d, a, e, b, omega 3, magnesium, selenium etc etc etc that you take NOW for LS is building resistance to anything like multiple sclerosus, lupus, arthritis, alzheimers.  This is our wake up call. It has nothing to do with our sexuality per se etc . Spirit is offering us the opportunity to "clean up our collective cultural act - food, drink, emotional imbalances, relationships to ourself as well as others, etc etc."

Trust in yourselves; try not to use negative imaging terms against yourselves.  Blessings,

Hi Nancy, yeah I know about the tens unit for arthritis pain, and I know it works.

If people want to try it for itching well good for them, but I think we all know by now that constant LS itching is due to diet and nothing else.  Not only that the tens unit isn't going to solve the fusing, cuts, sores and white plaques of skin...just saying.

Yep, Guppy,  I agree that the tens is not the most useful answer to LS.

I was only wanting to disabuse anyone of think thinking that it was not a valid product in general... and if she got aided by it, I'm all for placebo effect  as well.

BUT of course I learned from you that diet is imperative... AND I learned from my own studies that correcting DEFICIENCIES is equally as important.  smiles.

Hi Nancy, your right.  Sometimes we do get people coming on the site trying to sell stuff and I dont think she was in hindsight.

Hello-going through my emails and noticed this comment. Must disagree with you 100%. I’ve had constant itching for over 4 yrs and NOBODY has a more restricted diet than me. I’ve given up sugar, gluten, coffee, dairy among other things. I’ve tried the oxalate diet giving up the limited foods I do eat ie, spinach, almonds and beans but it didn’t help. I’ve even given up wine for a time. No difference.  It’s bad every night but worse right before my period leading me to believe it's hormonal. It bothers me when people on this site make assumptions. If it was diet related then I would know.

sorry whats your point? I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Hi, so you are saying I'm wrong to say that diet is the cause of itching because you have cut out everything and still have itching. Is that it?

Firstly, over the years many women have posted on this site, and some have made similar comments like yours.  I believe as do many others on this site that diet accounts for many of the unpleasant symptoms of LS, namely the itching.  This has proven to be correct time after time after careful monitoring. Once you take the time to look carefully, using a food diary you can often pinpoint the problem, but sometimes if you have more than one food issue it becomes overwhelming and that's why I think you might benefit from seeing a professional person.

What I suggest you try is a NAET practitioner (google it) because you may be one of those people that are eating something that your body doesn't like, but haven't been able to figure it out yet.  I speak of this with first-hand knowledge as I have multiple chemical sensitivity with numerous food intolerances..NAET saved my life.  At one point I couldn't eat many foods, staple items.   All the time I was eating these foods, my body was reacting and only through seeing a skilled holistic doctor were we able to determine what they were and eliminate them.

I'm an extreme case, but my point is that if you have honestly worked your way through eliminating things like sugar, dairy, alcohol, gluten etc, then you might want to consider my suggestion.

Because it could be the sunflower seeds you put on your cereal in the morning, or the chickpeas in your sandwich at lunchtime, or the glass or rose wine in the evening....or all of them.  Most people don't realise that the majority of their health issues stem from allergies or intolerances to foods.

Thank you so much Guppy for enlightening us with your longtime experience with so many health issues. Chemical sensitivities seem to be on the rise dramatically too. And you are reminding me that I know I've seen a reference to 'allergic' sensitivities that are technically not "allergies" per se as biochemistry would say.

I just don't know what our younger generation faces as our planet appears to be in distress in every quarter. I pray for my 33 year old daughter an her son who is only 2.5 years old.  There is SO much we don't know... or can't prove. The vaccine issue is so in your face but there seems to be an amazing AMAZING, "the emperor has not cloths" syndrome going on.

I can only "hold the faith" and CARRY ON.  Be Peace, ya'll (as they say in the South where i did not grow up)....

I wasn’t thrilled with your comment. It was insinuating that a person suffering from constant itch is at fault because they have not changed their diet. It’s false statement. I eat 3-4 foods a day, not 10 so it’s been very simple for me to take out, for example, beans for a week and see what happens. Next week arugula, etc.

When you have a healthy diet you feel better overall but it is not the cure for whatever LS is.

I was not insinuating anything.  I do believe that if someone has a constant itch then it is your body telling you that something is wrong.  Many of us have changed our diets and are now living an itch-free life...its up to you, but in my experience, many women don't want to hear this and so that's their decision, and yours too by the sound of it..

      Have a nice day.

Hi Nancy, I agree that our younger generation have much to deal with in the future.

When I came out to live in Costa Rica from England I had no idea that the people in CR actually spray more chemicals on their foods than the people in China!!!.. I attribute that in part to my MCS.  I feel so sad that our food supply has become contaminated through corporate greed.

I am against vaccines for children and think anyone that trusts them needs to do more reading on the subject.

      Have a great weekend.

You didn’t hear anything I said but that’s alright. I get it. You have a good day too!
