    Hi Ses

As your daughter had problems before with her elbow! Bless her how old is she. Lets hope its not arthritis but need to get to the bottom of it if it is hurting her.

Hope you get some answers about your results when you ring tomorrow.

Still haven't heard from my doctor about my change of medication. The consultant was going to write to him and I thought I might have just got a letter from him putting it in writing.

Still got horrible pains in my knees but have tried to keep moving about today.

Hope you feel a lot better and not so exhausted.

    Hi everyone

Well I went to see my surgeon today and he has confirmed that it is a tumour measuring 3cm x 3cm and has decided that he needs to remove it. I have to wait for an ultrasound scan to see which ligaments it has attatched itsself to before he can do anything so have to wait for an appointment for that. Am not very happy at the moment as further surgery was the last thing on my mind and I have been informed that if it has attatched itself to any ligaments they will more than likely have to be removed as well.

He says that he has refered me to a back specialist and that it might be at least another three months before I see him. Aching well today as I am sure all of you are and not sleeping well either.

He has also refered me to another specialist as three of my toes on my operated foot are very tight together and get very sore when my 2nd toe tries to go over my 3rd , as he thinks that they might be able to provide something to stop this other than surgery. So all in all not a good day.

Hope you all are having a better one than me but we must keep smiling otherwise we would only cry, I must admit though I feel like sitting here and crying at the mo as I have had enough problems with my foot without another on on top of it!!!!!!!!!

Any way enough of my wingeing, keep your chins up folks hope you all have a restfull night.X

    HI there Tess,

Olivia has had problems in her knees before and the last doctor said it was growing pains but the Doc today at the new surgery wanted to send her for a x-ray straight away as he was concerned so he said to see her again in a week or so after the x-rays come back, so we will see then what is diagnosed? I do hope you are not waiting too much longer for your consultant as there is nothing worse than waiting for them to decide when to send the information that is needed, as my results for my test again were not back neither........NHS must be the reason???? I hope your knees feel beter soon xxx

    Hi there Helen,

I do hope that the surgeon is quick to deal with your operation as waiting is the hardest we all do I think, and the quicker it is done the better for your pain and worry! bless you having the back problem too..... what are we all like eh, if we were put in a bag and shook up we would be a virus or something as it seems that all of us are not getting the full explanations we deserve and the support we need by the medical profession, three months time is ridiculous, and then your toes hun, bless you surely an Orthopedic could see all your problems together, I guess they wouldn't but it would stop waiting times eh??? Oh bless you I know how distressing the constant pain can get and how tired you can get not being able to sleep a ongoing vicious circle, when I am having a really bad day / night I have to get myself focused get myself listening to music or making my cards to get my mind off the pain..... it doesn't ease it as such but it gets you away for a a minute or two or three???? I do hope you get a good night sleep Helen, and I hope you wake up tomorrow with less pain, or should I say bearable xxxxx  take care and I am thinking about you and all my dear friends on here, I do hope everyone has a better sleep and a better day tomorrow? xxxxx gentle hugs to you all xxxx

HI there Helen, Tess, and everyone else,

You are very welcome Helen and may I say I hope you keep your chin up too as it will be a very hard time for you at the moment, I kind of have phases when I go through loads of pain and it seems never ending but then I have a little break and it kind of gives you strength I do hope you do get relief in some way, even though none of the medication they give us work???? I find hot water bottle or ice pack depending on the pain as in my arm I use ice pack and in my spine I use hot water bottle, my mother in law uses a ibuleve gel and that relieves her pain, so I hope this may help a little for you too? and like Tess says do feel free to chat to us as we are all here for everyone of us so when ever you feel you need to talk do not hesitate as sometimes a problem shared does sometimes help a little eh?  I do hope however you are having a better day today and you are being pampered xx

Well Tess I got to sleep at 2.30 ish and I woke up at 7.30 but as it was my turn to go back to sleep so I went back to bed and woke up 11.50 so not too bad the only thing is the pain in my hip again is painful as usual, I think it is this awful weather that is contributing to this pain we are having eh?. I also hope you get relief from your pain too Tess xx

Olivia is going to the x-ray dept tomorrow as the weather is awful here as it is gale force winds and rain so a nightmare, my mum is taking Olivia in the morning so she is stopping at her house this evening so it's easier, besides the schools breakup tomorrow also, so she can have a holiday at my mums

Anyway the bad weather is here and I think that is me for hibernation as I cannot bear the cold in winter due to increased pain I have had previously , so roll on Summer 8) or going on holiday to the Barbados  we can dream eh

Take care everyone and keep smiling

    Hi Ses, Tess and everyone,

I`m sorry about your daughter, Ses you seem to have as much luck as me as far as family health is concerned! My daughter was diagnosed with diabetes at 13, her only ambition was to dance, she did three professional pantomimes from aged 10 Her dance career came to an abrupt end at about 15/16 when she developed shin splints. It was over 10 years before she finally had surgery to correct it. Too late to take up a dance career. The NHS seems to think it can take our lives and mess us about as much as possible. I do hope your daughter gets seen quickly. I will be thinking about you both.

Tess, you must be looking forward to looking after Sophie, a new baby is always a delight. Make sure you get a good rest, so you can enjoy her!

I searched the internet for info on my husbands eye condition, it appears he can ask for a sensory impared assessment, by social services, to make sure he has what he needs to cope as well as possible. They will also do a carers assessment for me to see if I need any help. Why do the hospitals etc. never inform us of these things, this problem was diagnosed back in March and we have been struggling ever since???? So I will ring them tomorrow.

Well take care everyone, I do hope you`re not in too much pain with your foot and back , Helen and it gets sorted quiclky.

    Love Linda

    Hi Linda, Ses & Everyone

It seems that the hospital never tell you anything and you always have to find these things out for yourself  It would make life so much easier if they gave you all the relevant information for help you can get.

It must have been so upsetting for your daughter not to be able to fulfill her dream and dance. Claire my daughter was 13 when she was diganosed with Crohn's Disease. Luckily for her now with a lot of making sure she keeps well she is doing a job that she wanted to do. She is training to be a paramedic. She is a qualified technician and starts the paramedic degree quite soon. She never thought she would be able to do that particular job. It took her from 13 until about two years ago to get herself well and fully fit. I hope your daughter is doing well now!

I think having crohn's disease made Claire more determined than ever to achieve her goal. People would say to her you can never do that job! You don't so that to Claire as it makes her even more determined than ever to do it.

Well I still have sore knees again today and haven't got moving yet this morning. Need to have a warm shower that will revive me. Enjoyed looking after Sophie for a couple hours yesterday. Was a good girl and gave me a couple of smiles even though she is only three weeks old.

No it was not wind lol

    Well take care everyone

    Hi there everyone,

Olivia has to wait a week before the results from the x-ray are back, but at least they could get to the bottom of her pain???? I went to bed at 8 o'clock but woke at 12.30 am and then couldn't go back to sleep and that was me until 5ish and then Ethan woke up at 6.15am so I was goosed for the day....... woke up with an almighty cold but it has left me now????? wierd eh, I had done the sneezing and what have you and it is gone thank goodness....... very strange?

Yeah Olivia likes dancing too and I do hope that she has just growing pains as she has the head role in the school dance performance she has head role as Michael Jackson and \"thriller\" so she would be devastated if she is unable to dance??

It really cheers you up eh seeing the little ones grow as they start to do new things and it is so lovely...... Ethan is saying more words every day and he loves Sponge Bob and Thomas the Tank so when Nickelodeon is on or Play House Disney he goes mad if they finish!!!! and I have to say they have gone home to bed  anyway my daughter Olivia is coming home as my mum has just phoned as she is not too well so I am going to love you all and leave you for now, I do hope everyone has a painless weekend xxxxx

    Hi Ses & Everyone

I hope your daugther is ok! I do hope her xrays come back of for her.

She must be really looking forward to performing.

It is strange how you can wake up with something and it disappears a while later. I cleaned my windows the other day and after that my thumb was really hurting everytime I bent it. Stayed like that for two days but today totally alright. It is so weird!

My sons both liked Thomas Tank Engine. Still have some Thomas Books in the house. Also have a Thomas Tank Engine train set. Thought I would keep and hopefully one day have a grandson to play with it. Got lots of my daughters toys that Molly plays with and no doubt Sophie when she gets bigger. Molly likes playing with the Duplo House that we kept.

Well I hope you get a better sleep tonight as you will be really shattered! I didn't sleep to well either last night. Always sleep differently when Stewart on nights as I am on my own now.

    Take care

    Hi Tess, Ses and everyone

Hope your daughter is feeling better today, Ses. She must be really excited about the show, I do hope everything goes well for her.

Tess, I have the same problem with my thumbs, had it several years before diagnosis, but I don`t think anyone took it seriously! There are several things which I have had for some time, which now I think was probably the begining of the Fibro. Think I could have actually had it for at least five years before. Especially the sleep problems and fatigue!

My daughter also turned her life around several years after having the diabetes, a bit like your daughter did! She is a play therapist on a childrens ward at Addenbrookes. Following surgery on her shins 4 years ago she started dancing again and now has passed three teaching exams, so although a stage career was out of the question she is still able to carry on with her dream in a different way.

I was awake from 1am until 4 and then no sleep after 5.15 so am planning a lazy day today! Its pouring here this morning, so don`t expect a very good day! Lol

    Well, take care everyone,

    Love Linda

    Hi Linda,Ses & Everyone!

Like you Linda I havent slept very well the last two nights with little sleep!

I have had restless legs and pains in my knees. Feel really tired today and also going to have a lazy day! Its pouring with rain here as well so our pains are going to get worse lol  I have had the pain in my thumbs before like to say before I was told it was fibro and put it down to OA.

It is really good to hear your daughter turned her life around with having a chronic illness. She has done really well with her job! I do think it has made our daugthers more determined. It is really good that she could get back to dancing as well.

Before Claire decided to train as a paramedic she had also thought about being a music therapist. She did do some voluntary work at Peterborough Hospital on the children's ward. She was asked to take her guiatar in and sing with the children. This is her second passion her music that unfortunately she doesn't have a lot of time for now. It did help her however when she was going through difficult times with the crohn's to put her feelings down on paper. She wrote several songs during that time.

Well have a nice lazy day as I am going to do!

    Take care

    Love Tess

    Hi there Folks xxx

well I am again in agony in my back and hip and wrist and hands hurt too but hey we have just got to grim and bear it  the weather was crap yesterday and today was ok as the wind had dropped and the sun came out, but it was so bitterly cold, I was awake at 6.15 am due to the clocks going back but at least I slept from 12.50 onwards so it was a quite good night but then I was exhausted and so my daughter got up and said I could go back to bed, so she watched Ethan and i went to bed but laid there as I could not sleep just kind of rested and it did kind of help somehow????

I think we should go on another page as we have a lot of pages now...... I opened a page for How is Di and she has not replied  so who wants to choose a topic xxxx

Thanks for your kind words too, Olivia will probably get her results back next Friday but we are at the doctors on Tuesday due to Olivia having her medical due to us changing doctors, so if there is anything urgent the x-ray dept will have contacted the doctor I would have thought? I was wondering if she could be hyper-mobile as I was told by the Rhuemotologist I was and I have severe pain from time to time and I think it is that so I am wondering whether my daughter is having the same problem rather than Arthritis??? I will point this out to GP? However I do feel that I am going to explain all my troubles and they are going to think another hypochondriac.......mmmmmmmm I hope not???

I do hope everyone has a good night sleep tonight and sweet dreams xxxx
