tessa in hospital

Hi Friends,

I havent deserted you. I had a massive bleed early hours of last Thursday morning and have been in hospital since then. On antibiotics and high dose of Tranexmic Acid. Had ct scan and angiogram. They worked on the idea that if they did the angiogram if they found the vessel that was causing the problem they could embolise it there and then.

Well he did, but it appears I've grown a cavity and there is a fungus ball growing in it and the bleeding vessel is attached to one in the fungus ball, which makes it a specialised job. So it's off to Hammersmith hospital again for me. Not sure when. eanwhile they are exploring other options that could help me.

Under a different consultant and she was on about surgery, but 5 years ago I came in and had all manner of tests done in the hope of being able to have an op. But was told it was too dangerous and that I would bleed to death on the table and that ga. Feel very confused, but when she talks to my old consultant maybe things will be a bit clearer.

My daughter bought my laptop in for the day so I could let you know what is happening.

Keep your fingers crossed for me girls. Hopefully it will only be a few days and I will be able to get back on and catch up on all your news.

Love Tessa.

Dear Tessa, I'm so very sad to hear of this, but glad that you are now in the best place and being well taken care of. Its funny, I was thinking about you in the 'wee small hours' last night and worrying about the fact that we hadn't heard from you for a while. Do take the opportunity to get all the rest and special attention that you can while you can!

I will be thinking of you and sending all the 'good vibes' I can muster in your direction. My best wishes to all your family too - and a big thank you to your daughter for bringing your laptop in and making this possible - just wish that you, I and Jacee all lived a bit closer together so we could have come to see you with hugs and smiles and flowers ---- I have come to think of you both as close and dear friends over this past year and I can't bear to think of either of you being poorly (understatement!).

I will send little messages every day for you to pick up as and when you feel like it and are able to. Much BIG love and hugs to you Tessa, I will keep you in my thoughts, bless you, Vanessa XXX

Hi Tessa. I am NOT psychic but have been extremely concerned not to hear from you and very worried about you. I am soooooooooo sorry about the deterioration in your health but, like Vanessa very pleased you are receiving medical attention. I could rewrite the rest of Van's message easily and just put my name to it. I will think about you and send my prayers and my love. The bleed sounds to have been nasty. Fingers (and various other body parts) are crossed. I just wish I could come visit you. I hope your daughter (and the rest of your family) appreciates just how special you are to the rest of us. Get well soon (please!).

Hi Tessa- :rose: See, I have brought you a flower on my virtual visit -- (sorry it's just the one but they didn't have any bunches). I hope things are going better for you day by day.

I'm not sure whereabouts in UK you live --- are you reasonably near to the Hammersmith? For some reason I've been picturing you as living up near Scotland, so I hope I've got that wrong as it would be quite a trek

This is the first time one of us has been hospitalized since we all got to know each other and its got me thinking. I will show this site to the kids

and get them to register and bookmark it so that if ever I am ill they can post and keep you informed. Also it might help them too if they are worried, as I know that you and Jacee have the voice of experience and would advise and reassure them.

I'm still not 'au fait' with this site or I.T. generally you know Tessa. I keep receiving private messages from myself that I thought I had sent to Jacee! Still, I think on average 1 in five messages do go to my intended recipient so I am improving! I've never even sent an E mail in my life, I'm a bit of a dinosaur really. Anyway, when you are well you will have to explain this other forum thingy that you messaged me about ages ago, I think I somehow accidentally got there once but wasn't sure where I was so came back out --- a bit like when you go in the wrong room in someones house and think oops and rush out again. Its all a bit Alice in Wonderland really.

Well, as I'm rambling on a bit I will finish for now and look in on you again later. Typical hospital visitor aren't I? I've scoffed every last one of those virtual grapes I brought you! Lots of Love Vanessa xx

Oh Vanessa, how clever! What a lovely flower. What do you think Tessa - doesn't she deserve the grapes for being so clever? And then she complains she is not good at I.T. You should compare yourself to me Vanessa and then you would see what a genius at it you are - and I CAN do email!! My son showed me last year and I love it.

Hope you are progressing well Tessa. I agree with vanessalee, we should each get our kids au fait with the site so that we can keep in proper touch if anything happens. They understand it so much better than us don't they? It's an age thing. I have just been chatting with echo and decided that it would be good for us to start out in life as 90-year-olds and work backwards so that we would have the nous to appreciate our youth and good health once we got back to it.

Sorry Tessa, I can't do fancy pictures  but I do send all best wishes.

'Morning Tessa, Hope today finds you even better than yesterday :rainbow: (just showing off to jacee now  ). Couldn't sleep last night so passed time imagining I'd won the lottery and had bought lovely huge bungalow with heated pool, gym, specially adapted walk in baths, showers etc and beautiful gardens overlooking sea or lake (couldn't make my mind up). Weather was great too and you, Jacee and echo all came to stay with your families too, and it was like we'd all known each other for years and we talked, and talked....... Hell, I must start doing the lottery just in case!

Must go and get showered now (in my real pokey bathroom where I'm forever banging my head on the low, sloping ceiling). I'm off to the hospital at 9am for my ABG's--- Must fly! xxx

I should be on my way to work but..............both of you are at hospital today (I know why Tessa is there but not sure what ABGs are Van?). To cheer people up here is one of my favourite poems .... absolute rubbish - which just about sums me up. NB No infringement of copyright laws intended.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

did gyre and gimble in the wabe.

    All mimsy were the borogoves,

    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    \"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

    the frumious Bandersnatch!\"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:

Long time the maxome foe he sought-

So rested he by the Tumtum tree,

And stood a while in thought.

As in uffish thought he stood,

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,

    And burbled as it came.

One, two! One, two! And through and through

    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack.

He left it dead, and with its head

    He went galumphing back.

    \"Has thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

    O frabjous day! Calloh! Callay!

    He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

    All mimsy were the borogoves,

    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    Love and kisses

Hi Tessa, I hope you will smile as much as I have when you read these messages. Hurry back - we need our moderator, voice of reason and cheerer-upper. :nurse:

Found you another little poem, well a quote really:

\"I will not play tug o' war. I'd rather play hug o' war.

Where everyone hugs instead of tugs,

Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug,

Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles,

    and everyone wins.\"

    Get well soon.
