Tested for genital herpes but impossible to have caught it?

What i thought was a yeast infection has rapidly grew into a huge rash and miserable pain the past week. Painful all the time, burns while peeing. Went to the doctors and they said I have herpes and sent out a test; which will be back in 4 days. I dont understand how this is possible when ive been with one man for 3years. Is it possible to have caught it off a toilet seat? Or is this a different type of infection?
Its painful and im scared.

After a long time with my partner I got my first outbreak a couple of months ago. We've figured that the most likely explanation is that he's had it for a long time but hadn't noticed (outbreaks in men can be so mild they don't even notice the symptoms) and then during an outbreak he's passed it to me without even knowing.
It is also possible for the virus to lay dormant in your body for years without producing any symptoms so it could be that

Even though my boyfriend was so supportive about it all I still felt so alone and down about it, but after a week or so it does start to feel more managable I promise.
I was on aciclovir antiviral for 10 days which cleared up the sores but I then had very intense itching for about another month which was so much worse than the pain of the sores in my opinion.
Just keep yourself dosed up on painkillers and take a lot of salt baths.
However bad it sounds I'm now completely fine and all symptoms have gone so however terrible it seems it will get better. Support forums like this have been great because you know that you aren't alone and someone else out there will have had the same symptoms or feelings that you have.

Really helps talking to someone who has experianced this. I picked up a cream that will stop the spreading but side effects can cause burning and itching and thats exactly what i thought it would stop. No painkillers ive taken so far have helped remotely.

- What you can do to help, is take daily Epsom salt baths for as long as possible .
- use destin diaper rash cream on sores. Any type of diaper rash cream that says its ingredients are zinc oxide will help.
- take 800mlgs every 4 hrs of an anti-inflammatory, such as motrin
- when resting, wrap a cold pwcktw paper towels to stick between your legs.
- also get the spray bottle of Bactine to spray the sores to numb them.
- sometimes putting Vaseline on then e a heavy coating peovies some relief she using the bathroom or sit in a shallow bath and go.
Hang in there hun, it gets better. Do not stress your recurrents will be like this, because they won't. My recurrents have been nothing motmrw than one bump.. Don't stress

1. Hsv 1, you'd get from oral sex from him
2. Hsv 2, he's an asymptomatic carrier and you just now contracted it. No signs or symptoms have to be present to be contagious.
3. Hsv 2, he may have stepped out in you.
Since you've never been w anyone else, those are the possible scenario's on how you caught it. If it comes back hsv 2, he needs to be tested. If 1, then it was from oral sex.

New infections, blood tests come back w false negatives, if it is in fact herpes. So I took a blood test a week after infection and it can e back negative. Took another one 3 months later and it came back positive. You gotta give time for your body to build antibodies. I'd go back in another 3 months, just to be sure.
UTIs don't cause rashes. It takes 3-6 months to build antibodies... Just for peace of mind, I would go back

You know that full std panels do not include herpes right and if you don't specifically request herpes test, they will not put you in for it. Alas, good to hear.
