Tested for genital herpes but impossible to have caught it?

What i thought was a yeast infection has rapidly grew into a huge rash and miserable pain the past week. Painful all the time, burns while peeing. Went to the doctors and they said I have herpes and sent out a test; which will be back in 4 days. I dont understand how this is possible when ive been with one man for 3years. Is it possible to have caught it off a toilet seat? Or is this a different type of infection?

Its painful and im scared.

    I am in the same boat as you me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and 3 months and I just been diagnosed still waiting on his test results to come back always been faithful to each other and a year later bam I popped up with type 2 herpes still trying to cope with it... just know your not alone!!!
