The cure for BV!! Its so simple, no joke!

OK, so I first developed BV last april 2014 after taking a round of amoxicillin for strep throat. At first, the amoxicillin only gave me a yeast infection (my first one ever, and so far my only one). I had my period about two weeks later, and I ended up with BV. I have literally delt with the symptoms of BV every month since this until this month. The only thing I changed about my routine is that I no longer use tampons. Seriously. I didn't realize it but the chemicals in the tampons was messing up my normal vaginal flora. Tampons aren't just cotton, ladies. And I didn't know that either. I used a menstrual cup for the first time ever this last cycle. Wow. complete difference. I know there is a learning curve, but it is so worth it. I'm still not used to mine completely since I've only used it once, but please look up the menstrual cup online and throw out all your pads and tampons! They are pricey, mine was about 55 US dollars, but they last for years. Do this ladies! It will change your life!

It would be great if it were actually that simple. There are other factors involved. I havn' t bled in years so obviously tampons and pads didnt cause my BV. I am glad you are well though!

After having BV (SO ANNOYING) for a few weeks I started using organic 100% cotton tampons and liners and my life has changed! Haven't had any issues since. I use Jessica Alba's honest company brand.

Hi Krista. Did you fix your problem? I'm having the same issues with my gf and it make me feel terrible that nothing is helping her. She has given up on everything. Is there a specialist or something that can take both our swabs and say ok take two of these, you take 3 of these and all will jive?

Hi all. I just started dealing with this issue in April. Before that, I can say I’ve only had a yeast infection or other maybe twice in my life. It start when after having sex with a guy. Since then....while we are no longer involved...every month I’m feeling something, especially after my period. It’s like he threw my vaginal life off!! I tried the boric acid but It came back when I stopped. Antibiotics are the only thing to work then period then boom it’s back. As we speak I’m fighting a yeast infection while on my cycle, which is ending. I have a feeling the bv symptoms are returning. I’m so frustrated to say the least. Maybe next month I will try no tampons

Changing from tampons to pads seems to have worked for me. I am 44 and had been getting BV symptoms for months (first time in my life) and was constantly getting those canestan bv treatments and metronidazole antibiotics for it.  Cost me a fortune. Sex also seemed to trigger it. Unless used a condom.

I definitely have had 3 months free of it and although I haven’t had sex . I feel that no tablets and no tampons has meant the ph balance could now be restored. Fingers crossed. Give it a try. My next move was going to be pre biotics. Not tried yet. But may be worth doing to help prevent re-occurrence .

I’m almost 45 and I agree with you. Since last summer I have stopped using tampons in favour of pads. After months of BV , antibiotics (metronidazole) and canestan bv treatments. The

BV started randomly and sex without a condom also triggered it.  But months without sex made me realise tampons could be the culprit as the BV Reoccurance often coincided with my period. I was sick of it. So much happier since I made the switch. Am considering the cup. Just have reservations about hand washing facilities if out in public toilets and need to walk out to wash hands with blood on them and to rinse cup out .
