THE Mind Blowing PTSD How Do You Gain The Trust & Communication Once They've Shut Down?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've been casually seeing someone  who is an NYPD Police Officer for, 6 years who happens to have PTSD.

Over  the last two months he has completely shut down . If I get two emojis from him twice a week then I'm lucky how do I get him to reopen and trust me once again so I can help him

You’re absolutely right, it affects everyone differently. It’s probably why you should at least seek out a therapist who can subscribe what works for you. My ex told me that it took a few times for him to find the right meds; they would have to adjust his meds sometimes to get it right. He also prefers not to go to a therapist because of the same reasons you explained, so I don’t press it. You have to find a very, very understanding person to be your partner. It’s not always going to be nice and they need to be prepared for that. You also would have to respect their boundaries as well. I wish you the very best in finding who and what is right for you.
