Hi Victoria I really feel for you. Keep going with the steroid cream. I use emuaid, ordered through Amazon and it is definitely soothing. Also swab with borax solution and wash with epaderm. Coconut oil is another moisturizer to use and it is true to keep changing the things you use as LS seems to become 'tolerant' of some moisturizers.

Best of luck and try to keep faith that it will remiss at least. Sarb

Yes! Yes! Yes! And yes!  It's helped me so much. I don't know where I would be without it. It's really expensive but my husband tells me he wants me to buy it. I have an almost constant supply.

When I get sore areas, it bring rapid healing. I do find, when I first put it on, I feel itchy for about 15 min. Don't know why.. especially much so at night.

But then I have some relief.

It's the product besides steroid I absolutely don't want to be without. I'm sorry for your suffering.

I haven’t tried Emuaid yet due to the cost, but I have plain emu oil ordered so I will let you know how that goes. I have discovered that, for me, any type of moisturizer is essential in keeping the swelling and burning at bay in addition to a steroid cream. Olive oil is my first choice but others like coconut oil (it burns me), Vaseline or even Crisco.

I have also found that if I put on too much steroid cream for several days in a row, my skin gets red and starts burning in a way that’s different from the usual burn. I back off of it or don’t use it at all for a few days then start back using smaller amounts.

Thank your everyone. Does anyone have diabetes 2? On metformin? Any suggestions for washing I’ve always used goat soap but they say don’t use anything sad

Hello Victoria, I use Ivory soap and Dove for sensitive skin. My condition is not as serious as some, but I imagine that if the soap starts to irritate, I will find another solution.

Can anyone suggest how to get the swelling down.? It's a very depressing problem it has altered my life so much. I'm uncomfortable all day and get no relief !! I was wondering if anyone has diabetes 2 and is taking metformin. It seems this all started after being on metformin ?

Maybe you are also allergic to the medforme.  Ask your doctor if you take a different of medication for your diabetes?

Hi I am new to this sight.

the cream you mentioned does work.

I am on my second jar.

When I have a horrific flare up it tends to calm the area

Are you referring to Emuaid? It does work for you? I'm having a flare up and it really hurts. How often do you use it daily?

Hi Janna, yes I just started using it recently. It certainly helps with burning!  I'ts expensive but since it helps, I will probably continue using it. Have you used Coconut Oil? Does that work as well as Emuaid?  Thanks. Yes I agree. Emuaid does have a weird smell.  smile Debi

Have you been checked for other medical conditions?  Maybe you have a yeast infection (thrush) in addition to LS?

    Thank you for your reply.

I guess I better to get to GYN

Never thought of that. I have been having so many flare ups!

Yes I've used Emuaid. I'm not 100% sure it's really helpful. Maybe it takes awhile. I hope this helps.
