Thigh pain after hip replacement

i have had both hips replaced by the anterior approach. One in August 2015 and the next in January 2016. Surgical results are great! Recovery uneventful. Now I am experiencing thigh pain that radiates from the outside of my thigh to my knee. Especially when I do a lot of walking. Anyone else have this problem?

sounds like trochanteric bursitis to me too --my surgeon diagnosed it at follow up visit - - funny thing is that the bursitis was on the first THR - there was a little swelling on the hip and painful to the touch and when laying on it -
Gentle floor exercises, like side leg lfts and clam , leg raises
had the posterior approach ---
was told to rest more -
big warm hug

Hi I'm 10 days out of surgery THR right hand side...yeah horrible tightness in both thighs front from hip to knee...difficult to explain...tight pain...just trying a heat pad at the moment somseemif it helps....very frustrating Inhad this before the op and hoped that it would sort it out....I have a roller which I will try on the other side but don't think it's a good idea on the operated side yet...check with a PT....
