Thigh pain after hip replacement

Posted , 9 users are following.

i have had both hips replaced by the anterior approach. One in August 2015 and the next in January 2016. Surgical results are great!  Recovery uneventful. Now I am experiencing thigh pain that radiates from the outside of my thigh to my knee. Especially when I do a lot of walking. Anyone else have this problem?

    Hi Nonny,

sounds like trochanteric bursitis to me too --my surgeon diagnosed it at follow up visit - - funny thing is that the bursitis was on the first THR - there was a little swelling on the hip and painful to the touch and when laying on it -

Gentle floor  exercises, like side leg lfts  and clam , leg raises

    had the posterior approach ---

was told to rest more -

    big warm hug

    renee
