Thought best to use a new discussion, re Green leaf medication

I copy pasted this from my post to Maggers, thought it would be best in it's on thread topic.  Cheers...

Now here is a serious topic..  I have had the opportunity to try sampling a couple of puffs of real Green (weed, whackybacky whatever one calls it), on a couple of occasions in the past to see if there was in fact any truth in what they say.  I can honestly say, 'yes it worked for me'...   I lost all my body aches and my body pains.  It freed me up. I was still a little stiff but NO pain.  I tried it in the later evening so I slept really well to.  However I must say I laughed my socks off, more laughing than I have laughed in years ... must have been the good company I shared.  I have thought about this as a pain medication and look at it with mix thoughts... I haven't tried any since, but I possibly would if I could, but I wouldn't smoke it, I'd eat it I think.  I don't have good lungs for that sort of thing.

Have any other folk in here had the experience of using it for pain medication??

Hi Deb no i havnt but ive read about folk taking this and they relief they get is amazing.  dont get it, they dish out all these lethal meds that give us side affects yet get frowned upon for taking something that grows out the ground and really helps.

Where you get this from? are you in the UK?

Like to add i think they should legalize hear in the UK and make it available on prescription, like you i would eat it not smoke it and feel its totaly acceptable to be used for pain relief. we could all do with some and have a good laugh in the process, sounds good to me.

I'm in New Zealand...  I have known of a few folk, MS, Cancer, Chronic pain, Fibro sufferers that have used it and still do.  However of course it is illegal here to.  One woman got caught with a little bit of leaf and her special type of bong or whatever they are called, and when she went to court her doctor spoke up for her to the judge and admitted it was he himself that gave her the OK to try it and if it worked, 'go for it'... Of course she did and she swore by it.  She'd taken a bad fall from a horse and it left her in chronic pain since.  The Judge let her off.!!!!    WOW...  Cripes, I know I was amazed when I read that case in the news.  Good on that Judge for being 'real'....  I'm thinking of talking to someone about the amount one would eat. I have been told it is the leafy stuff they use to bake with, as it's the cheapest.  It is the scap part of the plant.  However what I had tried was a little bit of what they call apparently bush weed.  A plant that is planted in the wild and left to grow naturally.  I only had two puffs and WOW... the relief was amazing, absolutley amazing.  But as I mentioned I wouldn't smoke it.  So will let you know how I get on with discussions on what is the best method and part of plant AND for me the cheapest and most effective option/s.  It will be awhile before I can do this as I am not at home, and will be away for a couple more months yet.

My GP told me if it was legal he would prescribe it for me. I worked with people with various problems including drugs, they were mainly lovely people. One told me the best way to take canabis, it's not to smoke it.

Put a small amount of cooking oil on a teaspoon, heat the spoon over a flame. When the oil is hot crumble small amount of canabis into the oil, mix in live yoghurt, eat!

apparently it gets into your system quicker and is better than smoking it.

have a great weekend everyone x

shelagh, that is really interesting and I will definitely make a note of that 'process using oil, yoghurt and green'..  Sounds a very healthier alternative...  I just don't want to overdo a portion and wind up with what folk experience sometimes 'heart pulpatations and fear'...  I had a friend go through that, and apparently it was because she'd 'eaten' way to much of the leafy stuff...hahaha It had been baked into a stodgey banana cake..lol....   eeeeu I couldn't think of anything worse hahahaha....

People do have bad trips on it, it's important to get good quality, it's not good to go for the cheapest. Only put a pinch in the oil and make sure it's well mixed into the yoghurt. I wouldn't bake it into a cake although muffins are popular, it's harder to make sure it's not all in one clump. I'd stick with yoghurt, the guy who told me was a very clever man and a fantastic musician.

Hi shelagh and Deb; I totally agree that it should be made legal, under the supervision of a medical practitioner.....there are too many people who are Terminally ill, with no legal medications alleviating their pain...they are going to die, and to do so in unbearable pain, is not very humane....it does amaze me, too, that the People at the Top, don't want to discuss it....as they havn't had to experience pain, yet!!!....as for having had some via the cooking of cookies/cakes etc....my elder sister had a "nice" episode many years ago, when she was at a friend's place, with a group of people who all bought "a Plate" for the occassion....she said she felt really good/funny/laughing after having eaten a couple of "the cookies".....it wasn't until she was commenting the next day how much she enjoyed the day, that she was told re "the cookies"....she said she felt like she'd had a bottle of the Best wine....but hadn't had more than a small glass of the wine.......I wouldn't mind trialling some....even just to lighten our day/s, hey?biggrin   Bron

My colleague wanted me to bake some into cookies to take to work!! It would have been fun but I'd almost certainly have been sacked. It is ridiculous that alcohol causes so many problems from social to health yet it's totally legal but weed isn't! People 'high' on weed are mellow, laughing or sleepy while drunks can be aggressive and abusive, crazy!

I think it should be made legal in this country and on perscription just imagine how many people would benefit from it. It would of been good to have been in your office if you had of taken some cookies into work with it in I dont think any work would of been done. but you certainly would of had funsmile

I'm in Australia..they are talking a lot about legalising it.. (A different strain all together it is actually) for bad epileptics...cancer patients and much more..they are talking about doing trials..it's in medicine form ...drops...some people are growing and making it up..they GIVE. it to parents of young children who are sufferers and it's the only thing that ever works..the child is totally changed..they arrested and charged some parents once or twice and it was soooo heavily publicised that it was on TV in the bigger newspapers..they dropped the charges and the parents still use it...they said on TV. That it's the only time the child has a normal life...some of the government wants to trail it..wish they would hurry up..it's not like the the stuff they smoke..I don't even know how to spell it..lol...:-) cccccc

Hi Christine of Australia...   wow Australia maybe leaps and bounds ahead of NZ.  However there are many folk here that do use the natural green for pain etc and it's not processed.  The woman that got caught, charged and let off by the Judge, was using a particular atomiser type burner that took out some chemicals from the smoke and she just got the pain relief benefits.  I guess she may have still gotten a high from it, but I don't know.  I am really very curious now about investigating this and who best to talk to, is those that actually use it for such medical issues.   Governments and the likes of Pharmac and other Pharmicautical companys only want to be able to be the 'overlords' for production  and $'s, and the government for reaping the taxation.

What gets me is, 'who the heck to business corps and governing bodies think they are denying any person the right to life, the right to be pain free by natural means!'..

Soon we will be denied the right to eat our own home grown foods because the government or corporations won't be making enough TAX or easy money from the general lay person, born to and of this world.

Hi Deb, I am in the USA (Tennessee) and we also have strict laws, but it seems that many people find a way to get some of the weed.  I think I would too if I weren't afraid of getting caught.  I'm 68 years old and have lived with pain, early-on very severe, for about 38 years.  I would do just about anything to get rid of the pain.  I have several conditions that cause pain, but Fibro is the only one that is mostly under control by using Lyrica which is very expensive.  Hope you have good luck with controlling your problems.

The woman that was let go and not charged it was her hubby too.they got it of a guy in Queensland who makes it..he distracts the oil and it's that...it mmm..what could the authorities really do..with such public outcry...they still continue to use it for their child and they made that very public,,so do others...it's medicinal canibis...my friend has a 30 year old daughter who fits constantly-(epilepsy) all day and night..she is really pressing our govt in Tasmania for trials to start...she would never do it illegally..I'm confused though, this is not the same as ordinary canibis, it's medicinal..when you think of what opioids are in some medicationsf we take for pain and muscles..etc...and that's all legal...unreal..I reckon if a politician had to see their child suffer long time, and the only med that could help was that, they would certainly push for trials and legalisation...I'm not saying that I agree with this..just confused over it all..but what can be wrong ?? with a trial hurts no one... ..have a lovely day deb...mm..NZ,  we are neighbours aren't we..be blessed..:-) xxx
