Had mine five days ago. Went really well and apart from a bit of heaviness of leg and aching around the scar line, there's very little pain or discomfort. If you're in a good hospital with a good surgeon there's very little to worry about. I always think the shadows are worse than the objects. Very good luck to you.

    Good luck !!

I had mine done  4 weeks ago. Ceramic on Ceramic uncemented Total Hip Replacement.

It was pretty bad ,and painful and uncomfortable and weard.  My one was making so much noice and I could feel it moving and something grinding inside.

So be prepared it won't be easy in the begging , but it will get better. I started feeling difference after 19 -20 days. Less pain I could do more , no swelling and started  walking with one stick in the house. Now 31 days later:

I can walk a little bit without  crutches but I walk  like a ducksmile

In the house if I'm not tired I don't use sticks  and if I'm tired I use 1or both as for outside I take 2 crutches Always.

I try to do exercise and go for daily walks ,but depends on how strong u are . Im going to see physio on 1st of July and my surgeon on 10th Of July .

I wish you best of luck , br prepared but IT WILL GET BETTER! !

One of the lovely ladies here said- I can sit legs crossed

Thankyou Karolina its good to know that good and the bad and thats why I appreciate your comment.  My surgeon is great and very straight forward.  He told me it's hard and not to expect too much to start with and he also told me all the stuff that can go wrong but I forgot to ask what type of joint he uses.  I'm still kaking myself but feel better knowing the good and bad xx

You sound like strong and positive women. So you def going to be fine in no time!

You must  know all the good and bad stuff, it prepares you better. At least you will know what to expect .

I knew it's going to be painful, but I didn't realise how PAINFUL , after my surgery I thought I will never be able to walk again.  Physio come the same day to ask me to get out of the bed( I refused.  )I was one of the youngest patient for them. Ladies in the room some 70 years  young  were able to sit on edge of the bed and take few steps same day. I managed to get out of the bed next day and fainted 2times.

So it depends on each person smile

I think your surgeon should have told you what hip you are getting , this way you could get more info. Maybe you could call in and ask? I'm sure they be able to tell you. It depends on your age and activity level and so on.
