Hi everyone i had Thumb CMC Arthroplasty on Sept 11 2019 my question is has anyone else experienced a large bump on your wrist? it is almost like my bone healed this way. I have gone back to the dr that performed my surgery and he said it is dequivans. Sorry for my spelling on here but it is not correcting any words and we all know how hard it is to type.

Absolutely same thing happened to me . Doc said it was a bone spur and that he didnt do anything to fix it because he didnt think it was bothering me. Well, A) it wasnt there before and B) i was out during surgery!
So i still have it and it does bother me

Mine is very painful. If my wrist goes towards my body in anyway I am in pain. It hurts all the time and I wear a brace but honestly I am so sick of having something on after 10 weeks in a cast. He acts like it is a tendon but it is hard like my bone.

I looked it up and De Quervain syndrome is inflammation in tendons which control movement of the thumb. Can you do anything to avoid irritating or straining the area so it has a chance to heal?

I have a lump on my wrist & I saw a specialist who said surgery wasn't worthwhile unless
it became extremely painful. For now I wear a brace and apply Tiger Balm at bedtime.
That takes care of the pain so I'll stay away from surgery for the time being.
