Ticklish neck but no-one is tickling me

I know this sounds like a crazy condition but I'm dying to know why it happens. I have found NO ONE who has this condition and absolutely no help online.
I'm extremely ticklish on my neck to where if someone tickles my neck or lightly touches it, or even if anything brushes up against it, I go into flail mode and practically punch the perpetrator. I know that is not totally abnormal. It's what happens afterwards that is.
Usually the same night as being tickled (but not every time) I will go to sleep fine but wake up in a ticklish fit every few minutes or even a few seconds. This continues all night or at least until I wake for an hour or two. It probably doesn't happen but every few months when someone or something tickles or touches my neck (or even if I dream it). Each fit (or whatever it is) lasts a fraction of a second but, like I said, it repeats over and over again all night. I have had this as long as I can remember and refer to it as "tickle neck". My mother has an extremely sensitive neck but has none of the night issues.
Background info:
I am a 41 year old female in good health. I have no mental health issues. I was diagnosed with epilepsy 12 years or so ago because of 2 grand mals within a year. I am on lamotrigine and have only possible auras every couple months since then. My neurologist looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him the tickle neck problem and smiles a little condescendingly saying he does not think think it is related at all to my seizures. Besides, I have had these as long as I can remember, way before the grand mals.
Is there a name for this condition? Why does no one seem to have this same problem? It is so debilitating and draining the nights I have it, that it often brings me to tears. Any way to cure it? 😓
Thank you!

Oh my gosh!!!!! Same exact thing!! We need to start a tickle-neck club! Does yours happen at night and you can't sleep? Yes, even swallowing does it. How often does yours happen?

Hey! So I had it again this morning. Luckily it started around 4:15 so I did get to sleep most of the night.
I actually asked my neurologist about it and he just smiled (a little condescendingly) and said it had nothing to do with my seizures.
Does anyone in your family have it? My mom actually does a little bit. Her neck is super sensitive but it doesn't happen over and over again. At least she kind of understands.
Mine seems happen on a night when either something or someone brushes up against my neck the day before or even I dream my neck is tickled. It only stops when I've been up in the morning for awhile. When I try at night to get up and read or something it does not stop. What about you?
My e-mail is if you want to keep in touch that way. 😊
Have a great day!

Well I think it does .Alergies due to some thing . Funny you two are the only ones that have it lol . And why would you not go to the doctors? If you don’t go it won’t be treated right. All of us people on this forum go and get checked out by doctors and send us to specialist. And sending you to other doctors gives you knowledge on what’s going on with both of you. Notice by your names that you both are from same areas due to your names. May be you to should go make this tickling club😂😂😂😊

That's crazy!! Do you have any family members with anything like It? How long have you had it? Is it constant or does it happen sporadically?

I have the same problem and I've google it for 3 years (or more) but no one discuss about this so I thought im the odd one and its not an important issue to be discussed about :'( but I do feel disturbed. It happen in the afternoon sometimes but i always feel it before I sleep at night. The ticklish feeling isnt strong at the left side but it is very ticklish on my right side so I always sleep at the right side since the ticklish feeling gone when the neck being touched w/ sth but still it is not always comfortable to sleep at the right side so I will feel great of the ticklish gone forever. I want to know what is the reason of this and want to know how to remove the feeling.

omg, I have the same problem but mine never happens in the afternoon only when i'm going to sleep at night. i dont feel anything on my left side but my right side is extremely ticklish and its unbearable and i'd have to sleep on my right side for the ticklish feeling to go away and only then can i fall asleep. In the morning and during the day my right side is no longer ticklish unless i'm tickled.
