Tingling and numbness THR

Posted , 8 users are following.

Hi, I am 4 weeks left hip posterior THR. I still have tingling and partial numbness on my operated side  on leg and foot.  Without this, I would be walking pretty well.  Is this FOOT DROP.  Would this go away? Anybody has this experience?

Everybody's body is, of course, but my good friend neighbor physical therapist  suggested I take turmeric (500 to 1500 units a day)  for my newly aching knees-- I had hip surgery 2/15/17 and had no problems recovering.  Have, for probably 7 years, had tingling, burning in my feet--- nope not diabetic.  I think I did some damage running in an airport with my shoes off-- not running for exercise but to catch the next flight...---

Turmeric capsules or you could eat lots and lots of curry.  in a week turmeric caps have started helping my knees.  As a high school librarian, I'm on vacation as of today and hope that swimming, plenty of turmeric, and having fun will help calm all my nerve endings!

    Take care!

      Hi Betsy,

Curious as to how much Tumeric you take. I have heard conflicting advice. I have some but am not sure how much to take to see results. Mine would be for knees also primarily.

Hi Millie .. I am yet to have my hip replacement but last year had anterior hip surgery for a staph infection that resulted in the nerve pain you’re describing. Thought I’d let you know it’s been 9 months since my surgery and the tingling/sensitivity has almost gone completely, so it can get better! Best of luck to you! smile

Thank you Madla! I hope so.  I used to be very active and feel so restricted now.  Hearing your comment and other comments I feel better.  I’m trying heat pad too.

      Thank you so much again.

      Millie
