TKR NERVE BLOCKS ?

Any one know what nerve block is as I'm due to have TKR on the 24th of this month and still don't know what to do Anaesthetic or nerve block could it be an epidural which is injection in the spine and you stay awake has anyone had this just after a bit of advice please .

      I understood Marilyn and I think now I'm going to have the spinal block had my date changed yet again till 2nd March grrrr thank you

    Hi Eileen, I am 3 weeks post tkr. I had the nerve block and spinala nd did very well.  The nerve block was done by the Anesthesiologist under ultrasound guidance in the OR holding area, He of course numbed the area and I was also givien som IV medication to relax me-easy as pie, I watched and talked through the whole thing. I the OR i was asked to sit on edge of bed, heard your gonna feel a pich and that was that.  I woke up calm and pain free able to wiggle my toes. Feeling and movement returned quickly and I iwas up walking about an hour after geting to my room. The plus of the nerve block is that it lasts several hours.

      Oh no sara couldn't listen to drills and all the noise need to be asleep lol
