To anyone who remembers me!

hi everyone, (at least anyone who remembers me!)

it's been a long time since I've posted.

so many things have happened I'm gonna try to do this in shorthand.

1st) I'm moving to texas on 4/24. my youngest daughter's been trying to get me to do it for years. I've been too scared as my entire life has been in California.

but alas, I've been a HUGE safety net for my older daughter who hasn't worked for 20yrs and has a drug problem has finally taken it's toll on me. I can't take care of both of us any longer.

I recently had a series of. blood work, and now have to have a bone marrow biopsy to rule out leukemia or lymphoma......(yeah, I'm nervous!)

I'm also in the process of getting a nodule checked on my thyroid!

So anyway, I need to be with someone who is kind and gentle and compassionate right now. (she takes after her mom๐Ÿ˜)

the Good news is, my eye surgery went great (still need the left eye done....but hey, one's better than nothing.)Also, I'm down to 7.5mg on pred. and so far, so good! Now I'm starting to wonder if I had pmr to

begin with....ugh, wouldn't that be a joke considering all the horrible side effects I had.

So there, in a Very Short fashion is what's been goin on with me.

I'd very much like to hear from my ole' buddies and know how you're doing.

I'm only moving to Texas, so even tho it feels like Mars to me, I'll be around!

Luv ya all๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

It sounds like the best move for your health, Lynda. A relative who is almost 90 is about to move to another area after over 50 years in the same house. She has decided to look on it as an adventure. She has had more than her fair share of sadness and is physically quite disabled but mentally sound. Life takes unusual turns but they can often be good ones. It seems like a sensible move to be near a caring daughter. Who knows but perhaps having made the decision your PMR may be going in to remission. It is good that your eye surgery has been successful. I hope that your bone marrow biopsy proves to be negative and wish you well in your move.

hi Linda I had a bone marrow biopsy some months ago. Really nothing to worry about, I live in England the care I had was great, nothing showed in my biopsy. I too have been told after 2years with pred that I don't have pmr but severe osteoarthritis. Sometimes I don't know who to believe. Best of luck with your move, hope to catch up again sometime.

That is a new adventure. Hopefully it will be good for the soul and give you time to concentrate on yourself, and have some fun with your young daughter. Thinking positive thoughts for all of you.

Welcome back. Of course I remember you, and was wondering how you are doing. It sounds like you've adventures ahead, and I hope the outcome of the medical journeys is good. It will take a while to adapt to your new home, but I'm sure you've made the right decision. We all travel our own journeys and your older daughter should not be your burden to bear. You are giving your younger daughter a great gift as she wants to help you on your own journey. Sorry, that's a bit clumsily put, hope you understand what I mean.

Best wishes for all that is to come, and do drop in to update us when you have time.

    Hi Lynda,

Although I came on late in your story, I often wonder what the latest is in your adventures.

Moving is stressful, but staying put is, well, sometimes depressing, if you know what I mean?

You are an inspiration. Maybe I'll move to the dingle.

Didn't have time over the weekend but I wanted to say there is a lady on another forum who has recently moved from California to right up north somewhere - Oregon I think - to be closer to a family member. You couldn't imagine 2 more different places! She had been in a retirement community in the south, in the north she is in a small place of her own. And is as happy as Larry.

I do hope it turns out as well for you.
