hi everyone, (at least anyone who remembers me!)
it's been a long time since I've posted.
so many things have happened I'm gonna try to do this in shorthand.
1st) I'm moving to texas on 4/24. my youngest daughter's been trying to get me to do it for years. I've been too scared as my entire life has been in California.
but alas, I've been a HUGE safety net for my older daughter who hasn't worked for 20yrs and has a drug problem has finally taken it's toll on me. I can't take care of both of us any longer.
I recently had a series of. blood work, and now have to have a bone marrow biopsy to rule out leukemia or lymphoma......(yeah, I'm nervous!)
I'm also in the process of getting a nodule checked on my thyroid!
So anyway, I need to be with someone who is kind and gentle and compassionate right now. (she takes after her momπ)
the Good news is, my eye surgery went great (still need the left eye done....but hey, one's better than nothing.)Also, I'm down to 7.5mg on pred. and so far, so good! Now I'm starting to wonder if I had pmr to
begin with....ugh, wouldn't that be a joke considering all the horrible side effects I had.
So there, in a Very Short fashion is what's been goin on with me.
I'd very much like to hear from my ole' buddies and know how you're doing.
I'm only moving to Texas, so even tho it feels like Mars to me, I'll be around!
Luv ya allππ

Hello Lynda - I remember you! We were diagnosed about the same time last summer. I seem to have had things a lot easier than you - you've had a terrible time. I hope the move goes smoothly and gives you a new lease of life! Let your daughter pamper you for a while, and if I remember rightly, you have a grandchild to enjoy in Texas, too!

hey MhairiP....I'm so glad hear from you!
Yes, you are right.....I've got two little kiddo's (4 and 6) waiting for me. They're pretty excited gram's comin', but I think even MORE so for Cody (my dog)!π
it's gonna be a whole new life, that's for sure. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared to death about having to get all new docs and what may possibly be in my future depending on the results of some of these new tests I've got waiting for me, (ie bone marrow biopsy)!
But I'm gonna be with loves of my life!
I'm Very concerned about my oldest daughter, but she's 42 and I've been her safety net for 20yrs (she hasn't worked) so it's long overdue for me to get out of the way and not be a "classic enabler" anymore.
Still, she's my daughter and Iove her.
Okay, on to happier exciting things!
Please wish me luck and think good thoughts!
The best is yet to be.......right??

So they say, and I think it will be so much fun for you to be with those grandchildren. They must be real little personalities now and you will have a chance to see them growing up. All the best, and looking forward to hearing from you after you've settled in.

Hi lynda62707
I just saw your post. Was having probs with posts for a while all ok now. So sorry to hear about all your stress. I don't know if you have been looking at the forum where i did a small survey was done on what patients with PMR were experiencing before being diagnosed with PMR and the highest experience was 'stress' looking at your post regarding your daughter stress was a big thing in your life too.
So glad you are doing well with your tapering hope you get to lower doses with no problems. I hope your move goes well, moving is a stressful time too!....Also hope your biopsy gives good results. Sounds like you've been having a rough time of it, but you will get through it, you sound to me as if you are a tough little cookie, you had to be i suppose!
Great to hear from you lynda...hugs and heaps of good thoughts and wishes your way...ππ
