Tomorrow I go home!~

HELLO hippies!! Well it's been 2 weeks since my 2nd hip revision surgery. If y'all remember, I dislocated my first hip replacement after 3 weeks! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks that I've been in inpatient rehab and I get to go home! Wednesday they came out to my house to do a home evaluation, see how I can get into the house, if there are any steps, how tall they are, how I will be able to get around the house with wheelchair and walker. Also showed my hubby how to get me in & out of the house in the wheelchair safely. This has been very educational for us and being in rehab taught me a lot too. So main goal is "NO FALLS". I will still be non weight bearing and no movement to hip for another 4 weeks! 😫 I see my surgeon this cmg Tuesday and hopefully I can take a shower!! I also am unable to get in the car so my mode of transportation will have to be those vans that are equipped to taking ppl in wheelchairs. So the road is still long. I will be home alone most of the day, I'll be having to chill, no trying to sweep, mop or vacuum!! Best thing about going home, is being with my hubby, my family, my dog and sleeping in my bed! Bad thing about going home, I won't have these fine folks here to see, talk, lift your spirits.....but it's time to start a new chapter to this hip saga. God's bless to all!! Hugs, 🤗🤗 LD

Home sweet home! That must feel so good to hear and even better once you are actually there.

Sorry the system is exceedingly jumpy - taken 5 min to get this far, so I will write tomorrow.

    Big hugs,

    dear linda,

oh dear ... that is big ... bitter sweet too - great to go home but also a wee bit sad to leave your support group behind - maybe just keep in touch for bit -

are you able to wash and dress yourself ? can you get someone to come in and clean maybe?

maybe crutches are better when non weightbearing than walker? I don't know - using walker and hopping ? how did you get around in rehab facility ?

come back here anytime okay ...

it is so wonderful that you can go home ....

    big warm hug

Good morning Renee! I have my 2 daughters, which both work but said they would help, I have a 13 yr old granddaughter that after school, maybe if she don't have to stay late for volleyball practice, then my wonderful hubby who can somewhat clean!! 😆 For most part I can dress myself, wash? Well still need help. I did try crutches while in rehab but I was a lil leary of em. I'm afraid I might slip! Like hit a wet spot in bathroom or kitchen and slip!! 😳😖. Her in rehab I did walker & hop on the one leg up & down hall from my room and of course to bathroom and bed. Other than that I used wheelchair to go outside, to rehab gym and any other place far. Yea here it is almost 5 am and I'm ready to go!! Lol! I wake up here all sweaty & hot, dry mouth. Uugghh not good sleep at all!! Thanks for the hug! Will let y'all know after I get to see surgeon again and get these 2nd set of staples out and get an X-ray next Tuesday how things are!! Hugs, 🤗🤗 LD
