Tongue and mouth burning sensation. Anyone?

Posted , 8 users are following.

Well it started off about 3 months. It's better now. I have seen the Dentist 2 times, 2 ENT DOCTORS, on Thursday at Guy's Hospital and blood test. So far good.

Will it go and when?

I feel so down. Why left side mostly.

Thank you for your help ladies.

Blessings

Hi, the same happened to me earlier this year, as well as terrible shakes when eating anything sweet. Horrible, it has gone now. I don't know if that's because I went onto HRT and the hormones levelled out. Good luck, I'm sure it will pass x

Deborah, could you please explain your situation.  When I first read your response, I thought your experienced burning mouth BECAUSE you had gone on HRT.  But at second glance, you are saying that you got it first, and then decided to go on HRT and it went away......correct?

I'd love to understand the relationship, because this STARTED for me, with in an hour, of putting on my first patch.  But even now that I am not using patches, it's still there.  So any help you might be able to give on how to get rid of it would be helpful.

Do you mind telling me what HRT you are taking?  Is it estrogen only, or a combination.

Hi Gailannie, I got the burning mouth etc at the height of my menopause, when I was having panic attacks. I started on HRT, it's Estrogel I rub on arms each day, plus a small amount of testosterone gel. Gradually the symptoms disappeared. Hope this helps x

Thank you for sharing your experience Deborah.  I have tried estrogen, and as I mentioned, this became an issue for my as soon as the patch went on the first time.  I wish that estrogen would solve my problem, but instead I feel it has made it worse.

I have asked my doctors and also my dentist several times.  It may just be something in the patch that I am reacting to.

      Thank you again.

Thank you. I'm so scared that is something there what the doctors missed.

My head says that I'm fine but can not help it drives me terrible!

      How long can it be?

      Thank you for your reply.

I've had similar for the last few months and also now have a really dry mouth. I've been told it's probably either Burning Mouth Syndrome or Sjoegrens Syndrome and am waiting to see a mouth specialist. I know exactly how you feel - it's making my life a misery too!! Just need to hope it goes away.

I suffered with this for 6 solid months. I saw a maxofacial specialist and it was confirmed I had burning mouth syndrome. It burned inside my mouth,my tongue was burning and tender. Sucking ice lollies helped slightly and chewing gum. No amount of mouth washes helped from the dentist. It really got me down. It eased off on it's own. It's a waiting game.

    Hi

I have been suffering with my hot red throat for 2  years now, it also effects my nose and ears, it's on a daily basis, and yes it definitely gets you down, I have been tried on everything, I hope to see my 3rd ENT on the 4th of Jan, I have been told they don't think it is anything serious, and my doctor also seems to think it's to do with my hormones, but I know we're your coming from with the fear that it's something awful and their missing it, I have them thoughts regular, just want it sorting once and for all

I will see my ANT again on 14th of January.

      Thank you for your reply.
