Tongue burn

Hi all, I've been diagnosed with LPR for a while, as many know it's very unpleasant! On ocassion I seem to get what feels like a burned tongue, right in the middle towards the front. It looks like a red patch and feels like a mild burn. This familiar to anyone?

Thanks!

I also experienced the burning tongue feeling, the metallic taste in my mouth and just an overall feeling that nothing tastes quite right. I went to my doctor and she sent me to see a specialist. Her diagnosis is that it could be caused by my acid reflux (I was diagnosed 15 years ago) and that the more you stress about it, the worse it feels. I started taking probiotics and I don't get as many flare ups as before. I've also learned to not focus on it too much when it happens... I used to agonize over it!

Oh I know how you feel. When I first started getting that lump in the throat I went to the emergency room! Then I learned that this odious symptom is normal for acid reflux/gerd.

And again, the more anxious I would get, the worse that lump would feel.

Indeed, its a frightening symptom indeed! Then the bad taste and sometimes bad thirst just makes it all the more intolerable! Hard to see it all as harmless!
