Total Elbow Replacement - I have had this done. Anyone else?

In June 2014 I had my left elbow replaced. At the present time this is 9 weeks ago. I have had good progress but concerned about doing anything that will make it come loose.
Has anyone else had the same operation and how has it been and has there been any problem with the joint coming loose?

I am a bike rider who just had left elbow replaced. Wondering if I will be ok to lift bike on and off car carrier if my wife shares the load with me.

I had a total elbow replacement in 2014 and so far have had no trouble. I have used low weights, and try to be careful with it but sometimes forget and move heavy things. I avoid arm weight bearing exercises. Over the last few weeks I have started to feel some discomfort making me very much aware of it. I am now 75 and have poor bones so I suppose all in all I have been lucky. Best of luck with yours.

I am approaching 7 years post op - and fingers crossed, so far so good. When I had it done there was only evidence that it would stay in tact for up to 10 years possibly, if looked after. Has anyone gone beyond 10 years without problems?

Hi
it said 2 months ago, so still quiet current a lot of posts are 6 years ago.
if you are still interested, i broke my elbow beyond repair by falling over my grandson in Feb this year and had a total elbow replacement in March.
everything is healing well, i sometimes think i have a steel band round my elbow region and my fingers used to be swollen and on waking up i had to exercise my fingers to get them going.
my physio is very happy with my progress and i can do most things again. my consultant said i cant break anything which i was worried about, i can now lift my great grandaughter up easily (9 months old).
of course it was my right arm, so i had to learn to do everything with my left hand.
hope you are doing well with yours.
