Treatment plan that has healed me

Hello! I wanted to share how I have been healed in hopes that it may help others in their quest for restored health. I began following this forum January 2015 out of desperation believing that I was going to die! My tale begins as many of yours... One day shopping i became so dizzy I thought I was having a stroke. Four months, eight specialists, seven misdiagnoses, and countless tests later I wound up in emergency surgery! The final diagnosis under the medical model was Ménière's disease which after four months of dizziness nausea and vomiting caused LPR or silent reflux, acute gastritis, stomach polyps, and a vasovagal response condition with the random bouts of blood pressure and heart rate dropping accompanied by passing out! It was explained to me by my surgeon that the strain on my digestive tract caused a weakened gallbladder to cease working. No stones were ever found however my gallbladder was removed via an emergency surgery and was found to be swollen, rigid, and rotting from the inside out! Following the surgery I could keep no food down, was in constant pain and discomfort from nausea. I was virtually bedridden and failed to improve. Medical doctors placed me on PPIs which did not improve my condition and I was told that I would be on them for the foreseeable future. The impact however of these harsh drugs on my weekend body were deleterious. Months went by and I became weaker and more ill. But then one day I read something on this forum that I had not read before. So began some research and finally found someone willing to take me on as a patient for nutrition response testing or muscle testing. After a very short few minutes of testing I was told that there was a relative cure for me! I had tried everything I read on these forums from Minooka honey to cabbage juice and aloe vera... but not only was there no improvement I seemed to get worse and could not understand why these things would work for others and not me! My MD/ND explained to me that nutrition response testing is individualized and that each person is a different organism in need of different approach based on physiology nutritional history current medical condition etc.... And my cure is okra! Yes I said okra! How could it be so simple? It is a Whole Foods supplement (or as close to a whole foods as it can be being a supplement) and that along with Pituitrophin for a pituitary malfunction also identified through the response testing has been my cure. It is now five months and I have my life back! My MD/ND indicates it will take me 12 to 18 months to fully heal But i am well on my way! I am up to 54 different foods I eat and have no negative reaction, I have no nausea and sleep flat again on the bed, I no longer have the sticky glob of whatever choking me in my throat and can breathe normally! I walk a mile a day (quite a feat as just five months ago I could only crawl from my bed to my bathroom). I have not had a vasovagal episode in months now and I feel as though I am strong and sturdy once again not on the verge of collapse and death at any moment! And I do not exaggerate that! But please do not do what I did! Do not order out for okra supplements believing that they will help you! Have the nutrition response testing done for yourself to find your ultimate cure! I could have tried and just about did every remedy talked about on this forum and because it was not what I needed it made me worse! And I can honestly say that I could have tried different remedies for years and never have gotten to okra! There is an answer folks! I went from having a cardiac specialist, an internal medicine specialist, A surgeon, three general practitioners, an ENT, A neurologist, and an otologist to one MD/ND who practices holistic medicine and recognizes the need to blend both the medical model and the natural path smile I could have wasted years of my life in suffering trying to find the right remedy or combination of medical treatments...., but at what cost? I am now gaining my weight back, hair and nails are growing back again, my gums which had receded below my enamel line are recovering! My liver kidneys heart and lungs as well as my stomach and esophagus are all functioning normally once again! And all of my blood work has leveled out! If you are concerned about cost it is not that costly! The initial testing for me was just $200 and an office visit of $45 each time I go. The supplements are less than $40 and last me 2 1/2 months. So it is true that insurance does not pay for this type of medical treatment, but I have had less out-of-pocket expense with my MD/ND than I did with co-pays deductibles etc. for everything else I had previously done through the medical model! I cannot recall now who originally posted about this testing but I thank you! And I am grateful for this forum! I wish all of you godspeed on your health recovery journey!

Jodie what a wonderful story and its bound to be one of those fantastic threads that goes for years. Congratulations ona job well done.

So good to read about your positive outcome.  Yes !!!,  conservative health care and natural practisioners should all learn to work together.

    Good for you, Jodie.

As an aside could you (and others) punctuate their posts with frequent paragraph and/or line breaks for those of us with poor vision?

That extended stretch of relentlessly tight text probably puts a lot of people off reading.

    It did me, actually.

Light, will do my best to learn to accommodate for low vision readers! I'm actually blind and use Dragon speech to text software and am not sure how to do that , but will seek assistance to see if possible! (Smile) And, thanks for the feedback!

Gosh! Well for a blind person that's one hellova piece of text! You got me there.

Congratulations... not just for that but for your story too.

Yep, Just a few months ago I could barely talk! Now, no one can shut me up! :D AHAHA...

Well Light isnt Jodie just the most wonderful person one could ever meet?

We are bawling our eyes out here in Australia as her story is just so moving.

On your reading problem, if you get an  iPad if you just spread two fingers on the text and it will get to full screen size.

You must reduce the window to post or you will get "unexpected error ("0smile

It must be  very hard typing into that tiny window?

Anyway my wife and I feel quite humbled with meeting you two. We have no problems compared with what you cope with on a daily basis.

      Thanks for your support, Rex.

Actually I am working from a desktop and am able to get the font size right up super large. But it's not the font size so much, it's the lack of white space. (There's a reason paragraph indents and line breaks were invented!)

Text without any breathing space is for me a bit like swimming underwater and not being able to come up for air.

Never mind. In the large view of things (hah!) it's a minor problem.

Best to you all down under!

Thanks Light - I think Jodie is putting in the paragraphs but its this bulletin board that is not displaying them. In personal emails there are imbedded commands that show up as /D.

You brave, brave people deserve all the support us not as badly effected "refluxians" can give you.

I'll if there is a work-around as we have Dragon.

    Congratualtions Jodie.

I only skimmed as was unsure as to your condition...was it acid reflux and other issues.... in summary?

Yes Janniey! Meniere's Disease, LPR/Silent Reflux, Gastritis, Stomach Polyps, Gallbladder Disease, and Vasovagel Response Condition. Roughly in that order.

Hi Jodie - it is interesting as you have said in previous posts that you can pick up little gems on the forum. I just did with you! Menieres! You have jogged my tired old brain. I followed your exact progression - Meniere's Disease, LPR/Silent Reflux, Gastritis, Stomach Polyps BUT as far as I know havent got Gallbladder Disease but I did accidentally find I had gallstones during a routine eco cardiogram. I saw these balls in the screen and asked the technician what they were and he said hasnt your doctor told you about this? Interestingly he didnt mention it on his report! As for Vasovagel Response Condition I sort of induced that myself. I was taking a crazy 7 BP meds then decided to go all healthy, lost 22 kgs but my doctor was loathe to reduce the specialists meds. She only reacted when my pulse stayed below 45. Used to get the spins going to the loo at night!

Havent had any joy finding a Nutrition Response Tester in Australia just yet but its early days. I read up on Dr John Wades website a really good explanation of how it works (and yes despite your warnings just had to go out and buy a bit of Okra same as Trev did!  - theres probably going to be a world shortage thanks to you! Seriously eaten raw it initially soothes a very sore throte as it has a lovely thick composition so Chrissy has added it to our daily vegetable juices. Anyway I can see where John Wades is coming from as we truly havent got a clue just what a wondrous piece of kit our bodies are. I read a survival book where two guys lasted 7 weeks rowing in the ocean. Nauture looked after their cores and arms yet let everything else waste away to give the best chance of survival. After rescue their battered bodies returned to normal. Dogs are onto this. They know when something is hurting. The day I went suddenly deaf in one ear our dog was licking that ear that night - she had never done that before. We call it giving a treatment! So if any Aussies know of a practitioner anywhere in Australia please PM me. Again Jodie thanks for your truly inspirational post.

Oh Rex! My surgeon explained to me that the presence of gallstones is gallbladder disease... As well as a gallbladder malfunctioning or not functioning in any other way. And, he explained that these do not get better on their own and need some sort of intervention. By the time mine was discovered i had gone septic, so please do not wait to follow up with your doctor on this! Ironically, it was my cardiologist who first mentioned there might be a problem with my gallbladder following one of his tests, but that mention was not in the file sent back to my Gastrointernist either.... Hmmmm...

      Insert blank line.

My vasovagal episodes too were precipitated by blood pressure medication erroneously prescribed following a misdiagnosis of my collection of symptoms of being due to high blood pressure... rather than Ménière's disease. The meds took my heart rate and blood pressure so low i could not stand for passing out. Took 2 months for Dr. To take me off it and by that time symptoms were so much worse and health had deteriorated to my not being able to move from the bed. Even once off the meds the vasovagal episodes continued and the cardiologist told me they could be permanent or just suddenly go away once health is restored.

Interesting too the example you mention about those lost at sea... Specifically because it is similar to what happened to me in that I completely lost my legs! I have always been a runner up until this Ménière's hit me in Jan 2015. Five miles 3 to 4 times per week, swimming, hiking, and dancing regularly... But within 2-3 days of this nightmare i noted an unfamiliar weakness in my right leg... I was checked for stroke and there was no evedence of one... It worstened until my legs could not hold me up. Terrifying! Now that my body is being healed, i can walk a mile a day! It will be another 6 months before i can run again.. But i am happy with my progress so far.

Yes keep looking and keep asking for someone who does nutrition response testing there. Be looking up those who do holistic medicine and even chiropractic clinics are many times associated. And no worries okra is good for you! I personally do not care for okra and am not eating it but I am taking a supplement of it. As much as I need to take each day I could not possibly eat enough okra in a day to match it! But there is quite a bit of information out there about okra's powers to coat and soothe. I do believe our bodies are engineered to heal themselves if we listen to what they are saying to us... Then at least we can give them a fighting chance! Hang in there and blessings to you and Chrissy!

Hi Janniey, i thought too my symptoms to be random but my MD/ND has explained how the illnesses were more like dominos. The Ménière's disease made me so dizzy and nauseous i vomited for 3 months when i moved. This caused the LPR/silent reflux... LPR stands for (/Laryngopharyngl Reflux... and the medical stress gastritis... Which over a prolonged period causes stomach polyps. The then strain on my digestive tract caused my weakened gallbladder to give up and the whole of septic blood and unnecessarily prescribed blood pressure medication resulted in the vasovagal response condition. This was for me sudden, unexpected drops in both heart rate and blood pressure to passing out. Once flat heart rate and blood pressure begin to rise again. It took about 30 minutes to recover. I do not recall a headache associated, except once following the administration of nitro glycerin during a tilt table test I failed at my weakest point just 4 days before surgery. My cardiologist says many prople experience these and there are several combinations of things at the root but never did go into greater detail. He just said for me to lie down if I begin to feel one coming on. And, to stay flat at least 30 minutes.

      Insert blank line.

Yes, i was tried on 2 PPIs. Neither had any positive impact and the second had worse consequences than the first. That trial ended in a hospital stay. I was to be placed back on the first again when i saw the post on this forum under alternative medicine about how a man (i think.., i was so sick then) had been given what he needed to heal his gut folllowing nutrition response testing. It had worked for him. I believe his cure was aloe vera juice. I was desperate. I ordered aloe and it burned me up! So i went for the testing because i truly felt one more trial and error and i'm done for! And, for me, the cure my body responded to was okra! Alot of okra! It has worked. And yes foods have been reintroduced into my diet very calculated and very slowly. I am extremely, acutely aware of all i eat. Especially after months of nothing but hard boiled eggs and banana!

      Insert blank line.

I credit this forum of fellow seekers for helping me save my life! Yes! A warm, helpful lot! I do not know of the conditions you mention, but keep asking! Someone will! Blessings to you!

Hi Jodie & the rest of the gang

I had a really bad vertigo turn in the ND's rooms after  acupuncture followed by deep tissue massage - one of the really bad ones where as well as spinning the floor kept falling rapidly forever like an out of control lift. The ND grabbed my left wrist, lined three fingers up in the "tram tracks" on the back of your wrist, removed the two fingers nearest to my hand then applied pressure with the remaining finger. Amazingly the room slowed and I was able to get dressed and stand. However it was the worst one I had ever had (probably because I am super low at present) and I could not drive home. I was OK on my back laughting and joking with our ND before this event but it all changed when he turned me over - I can remember getting instant sinus.

I think this is a little trick we should all add to our "band aid" box! I find I panic far less if I know the why and there are options.

You are a lovely lady Jodie and I'll bet our good friend Light is delighted with your efforts to make posts more readable for him by putting in the blank lines.

Oh, bless you for the line breaks! How sweet of you!

I get your thing about okra. We'd have to eat nothing but okra, I presume, to get the benefits. (We call them ladies fingers here. Imagine eating nothing but ladies' fingers!).

The same with turmeric as an anti inflammatry, It's not enough to eat curry each day. You need the condensed high potency version to reap the rewards....

All of which begs the question....

If so many plants are full of serious healing properties once you take huge quantities, whats not to suggest that all fruit and veggies, highly condensed, have all the answers to all the maladies...?!

      Sweet dreams, eh...?
