Treatment plan that has healed me

Hello! I wanted to share how I have been healed in hopes that it may help others in their quest for restored health. I began following this forum January 2015 out of desperation believing that I was going to die! My tale begins as many of yours... One day shopping i became so dizzy I thought I was having a stroke. Four months, eight specialists, seven misdiagnoses, and countless tests later I wound up in emergency surgery! The final diagnosis under the medical model was Ménière's disease which after four months of dizziness nausea and vomiting caused LPR or silent reflux, acute gastritis, stomach polyps, and a vasovagal response condition with the random bouts of blood pressure and heart rate dropping accompanied by passing out! It was explained to me by my surgeon that the strain on my digestive tract caused a weakened gallbladder to cease working. No stones were ever found however my gallbladder was removed via an emergency surgery and was found to be swollen, rigid, and rotting from the inside out! Following the surgery I could keep no food down, was in constant pain and discomfort from nausea. I was virtually bedridden and failed to improve. Medical doctors placed me on PPIs which did not improve my condition and I was told that I would be on them for the foreseeable future. The impact however of these harsh drugs on my weekend body were deleterious. Months went by and I became weaker and more ill. But then one day I read something on this forum that I had not read before. So began some research and finally found someone willing to take me on as a patient for nutrition response testing or muscle testing. After a very short few minutes of testing I was told that there was a relative cure for me! I had tried everything I read on these forums from Minooka honey to cabbage juice and aloe vera... but not only was there no improvement I seemed to get worse and could not understand why these things would work for others and not me! My MD/ND explained to me that nutrition response testing is individualized and that each person is a different organism in need of different approach based on physiology nutritional history current medical condition etc.... And my cure is okra! Yes I said okra! How could it be so simple? It is a Whole Foods supplement (or as close to a whole foods as it can be being a supplement) and that along with Pituitrophin for a pituitary malfunction also identified through the response testing has been my cure. It is now five months and I have my life back! My MD/ND indicates it will take me 12 to 18 months to fully heal But i am well on my way! I am up to 54 different foods I eat and have no negative reaction, I have no nausea and sleep flat again on the bed, I no longer have the sticky glob of whatever choking me in my throat and can breathe normally! I walk a mile a day (quite a feat as just five months ago I could only crawl from my bed to my bathroom). I have not had a vasovagal episode in months now and I feel as though I am strong and sturdy once again not on the verge of collapse and death at any moment! And I do not exaggerate that! But please do not do what I did! Do not order out for okra supplements believing that they will help you! Have the nutrition response testing done for yourself to find your ultimate cure! I could have tried and just about did every remedy talked about on this forum and because it was not what I needed it made me worse! And I can honestly say that I could have tried different remedies for years and never have gotten to okra! There is an answer folks! I went from having a cardiac specialist, an internal medicine specialist, A surgeon, three general practitioners, an ENT, A neurologist, and an otologist to one MD/ND who practices holistic medicine and recognizes the need to blend both the medical model and the natural path smile I could have wasted years of my life in suffering trying to find the right remedy or combination of medical treatments...., but at what cost? I am now gaining my weight back, hair and nails are growing back again, my gums which had receded below my enamel line are recovering! My liver kidneys heart and lungs as well as my stomach and esophagus are all functioning normally once again! And all of my blood work has leveled out! If you are concerned about cost it is not that costly! The initial testing for me was just $200 and an office visit of $45 each time I go. The supplements are less than $40 and last me 2 1/2 months. So it is true that insurance does not pay for this type of medical treatment, but I have had less out-of-pocket expense with my MD/ND than I did with co-pays deductibles etc. for everything else I had previously done through the medical model! I cannot recall now who originally posted about this testing but I thank you! And I am grateful for this forum! I wish all of you godspeed on your health recovery journey!

Hi Jodie - I wonder if you would be so kind as to list the 52 foods you are on at present and if known the method of picking which ones to add and how long to wait for a negative responce? I ask this as my SIBO tests all came back negative this morning which means I am back to square one! Oh well no use moaning as I have been here a few times before! However, thank, thank, thank you for alerting me to the possible link with Meniers to our reflux problems. Preliminary tests show I do indeed have a problem with this! Yes I have learned yet another lesson since meeting the gang here! Anyway I thankfully dont have to do that dreadful tilt test you had to endure. Another thing I learnt this morning was a coated tongue usually means low acid. No it wasnt me! The ND asked Chrissy to put her tongue out and in doing so he picked up a jaw problem. He tested this by using a similar technique to your MTR treatment. Gosh this stuff is just so fascinating! I have gone from a total skeptic to one who wants to tell the world! Anyway I am getting the full business done and cant wait - beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and was frankly getting a bit worried as not toooooo many options left. We are up to day 21 of sleeping upright in a recliner. Oh for a normal life!

Thanks for reporting back on the neg SIBO result. Sorry there's no clarity yet. But I'm sure it will come.

Excited that you're going for the kinesiology/muscle testing/NRT (which is nutrient response testing NRT - is that right? ...so as not to be obscure to others following on here. But they are all from the same tradition ie Trust the body to guide us).

      Sure Rex!

Here is how my diet has progressed:

      Started: hard boiled eggs, Bananas

Next added: Okra, Chamomile tea, Cantaloupe, Boiled chicken

Then added: Raw applesauce, Coconut water, Gluten free oatmeal

      Then: Steamed spinach, Roasted chicken

      Then: Olive oil, Baked salmon

      Then: Butter, Steamed Asparagus

      Then: Baked Apple, Sweet potato

      Then: Baked Carrots, Romaine

Then: Roasted Turkey, Steamed green beans

      Then: Kale, Fennel

      Then: Baked squash, Fresh apple

      Then: Baked pear, Sautéed chicken

Then: Added a few raisins to oatmeal, Steamed cauliflower, Steamed broccoli

Then: Fresh spinach, Cooked Peas, Cooked Mushrooms

      Then: Raspberries, Fresh pear, Tuna

      Then: Mayo-homemade, Avocado, Fresh carrots

      Then: Fresh mushroom, Fresh cauliflower

Then: Bison, baked slowly and tender

Then: Kosher Sea salt, Sprouting bread (original)

Then: Black olives, Fresh broccoli, Fresh asparagus, Fresh green beans, Pea-pods, Water chestnuts

Then: Fresh basil, Garbanzo beans, Chickpeas

Then: Spring mix lettuces, Celery, Cabbage, Black beans

      Then: Walnuts

      Insert blank line.

Apparently raw versus cooked foods are very different indeed once in the body. They provide different nutrients and require different energy and enzymes to break down. And both are needed for health! I am not allowed to juice anything yet because you have to chew it and he is not sure I will do that! Apparently when we chew what is in our mouths our body releases specific enzymes to break those foods down so that we absorb the full nutrients of the food properly to use for energy and health. By just swallowing juice most of it travels straight through our bodies without being utilized. By holding juice in our mouths for 15 seconds and chewing it, it prepares our body and intestines to break down and absorb the nutrients in that food! So please remember that when you are drinking your health drinks and juices! Chew it up good!

      Insert blank line.

The choices on what to add and when were dependent on what my body was needing. Proteins were introduced as I needed them, and carbohydrates such as oatmeal were removed later as my blood sugar became affected. So I no longer eat the oatmeal for now and bananas as well... I only eat fruit when accompanied with protein and leafy green vegetables to aid in my body's utilization and breakdown of the fructose. My MD/ND believed this was how to minimize my vasovagal episodes... and it is working!

      Insert blank line.

I am not eating anything in the nightshade family as of yet.., tomatoes, potatoes (except sweet potatoes because they are not really potatoes), peppers, anything Soy, Paprika, etc. because they are harsh on the system and I have demonstrated potential issues with that group through the nutrition response testing.

      Insert blank line.

And I didn't count the kosher sea salt and other seasonings/herbs/spices as foods.

      Insert blank line.

The key to my diet has been baby steps and STICKING TO IT! The NRT weekly, every other week, and now every 3 weeks reveals my body's current condition and what alterations can and should be made. Exaple being adding the oatmeal one week and then eliminating it another as my body heals... it changes, and my needs change. It truly is a personalized health restoration plan!

Thanks for sharing your progress and current diet. Fascinating. So you're not going gluten free? Does the practioner have a view point on gluten and grains? I'd be interested to know and thanks again for this!

Janniey hi again! Oh yes he is quite opinionated with regard to the grains... he believes how they are grown today that they are to our bodies the same as poisons! The ultimate goal for me is to be rid of them entirely! And I will be there eventually! Because of how sick I was and the vasovagal episodes and blood sugar issues he is allowing my body through NRT to tell him what I need and when. He explained to me that I have to eat to survive, and I have to balance that with being able to heal my gut, so we are making some compromises along that path until I am fully healed. I have no specific negative reactions to grains however due to how they are grown today and all the chemicals and poisons used in processing them I will eliminate them from my diet entirely at some point that I am not in need of what the grain is currently doing to balance my blood sugar and body while I heal. I eat no more than one thin slice of sprouted bread a day. And I only eat it with twice as much protein and leafy green vegetable for balance. But for some reason right now my body still requires that one piece! But in time I will be strong enough that I can adjust to not having it, once my energy stores or reserves are replenished and my body is not having to work so hard to heal itself. So I guess it would be analogous to the cat or dog when ill and it goes out and munches some grass off the lawn to aid indigestion. It is not a typical part of the diet but used as a medicinal resource...

Very interesting Jodie. Thank you so much!

Thats probably a good strategy. Its slightly less dramatic than quitting altogether. But thats what I did. Gluten, wheat and ALL GRAINS. I found it less tough that way, for me, somehow. Cos then there's no fussing around about trying to make distinctions and I wrap things in lettuce leaves instead.

No sandwiches..non of that. Just simpler!

Anyway I love that you're working with flexibilty and appropriateness for you.    xx

well done for discovering your path to recovery! I shall enjoy following.

Oh will you go back to running? can't bear the thought of pounding the concrete(!!) but dancing....yes!! love it. Are you quite young may i ask. Is that Washington in the Pacific north west? I've been there...gorgeous place. lots of wildness and creatures we don't see here in the UK.

SO THIS MUSCLE TESTING....do they create a circuit with a machine and obtain readings? Or is it the arm dropping method?

Thank you so much for this fascinating thread!

      Hi AlieeB!

I will return to running just as soon as my Dr. gives me the go ahead! AND the dancing and hiking too! The swimming may be a while tho... I am middle aged, justturned50 in July! And, yes Washington State in the Pacific Northwest... it's a stunning place to live! I'm 2 hours or less from the ocean, Mt. Rainier and the National Forest, the dunes and desert, and even the tropical Rain Forest! We are blessed!

We see deer, racoons, marmots, beavers, elk, bear, coyotes, wild rabbits even wolves and cougar again! Eagles, hawks, blue harron, and so many others flying about... We have both fresh and salt water creatures as well... Seals, whales, squid, and dozens of shell and swim fishes! Truly love it here!

And, yes! The muscle testing is both through an electrical impulse graphing and the arm dropping through a conduit practitioner to keep the readings as clean as possible. Truly fascinating!

Ahaha.... No! You don't feel it! It just measures the electricity of your muscles..., just like an electrocardiogram measures the electricity of your heart muscle. It's completely non-invasive and just appears as electrical movement that can be graphed on a screen smile

Congratulations Jodie for getting your health (and your life) back! I share your desperation with Western medicine as well. Most of the time, they seem to fix only the symptoms and not the root of the issue.

    Hi Joddie,

I know this is an older thread. How are you doing now? I came across your thread today and am really interested in the NRT. Can you Message me the ND in Pacific Northwest whom you worked with? I too am in Washington state and would like to try it for my stomach issues.

    Thanks!
