That is both very impressive and funny. I was taken in hook, line and sinker and then there was the last sentence. Brilliant!

Glad you enjoyed it. I think the message is there is a better life after the op but it takes time to fully recover. My surgeon reckons it could be up to a year b4 fully operational---if that's the right word to use in the circumstances.

Wow Colin that's amazing, I'm at 15 weeks and was pleased that I managed a 1/2 mile walk with my dog, no stick, no limp, but it was after a 6 hour retail shift that involves a lot of standing.

    Keep on inspiring us.

6 hrs work + 1/2 mile walk reckon that's pretty good going.

I still use the crutch for walking cos it helps keeping me on the straight and narrow to overcome Mr. Penguin. Don't need it for swimming though when I do want to do the penguinwink

I'm really worried about going to the pool as cannot put shoes or socks on yet, it's the getting undressed and dressed bit.

      Hi Ruth

I don't have any problems with dressing & undressing but still can't do laces and shoes so wear slip ons and take my brilliant shoe putter onner with me. It was really exillerating to get in the pool again after about 9 months. If you were a regular swimmer give it a go ASAP. It's great exercise

I use my long handled shoe horn to prize my socks and TEDs off ... works a treat.  Just slip it inside the sock at the heel, and push. Once the sock is over the heel, it's so easy to get them off.

Getting them on - use a sock aid, seems the only way.

      Shoes - slip on's.
