Tugging pain in pelvis

Hi all has anybody had a pulling/tugging pain in pelvis and right side? Every time I turn over in bed my stomach feels like it's pulled a muscle, I've had this for a few weeks now. I have some discomfort in my right upper side too. Do you think this could be a cyst? Would really appreciate any feedback.

I have a right ovarian cyst that's shrunk from 4.2cm to 2.6cm, I have been having all kinds of stomach pains on both sides! I have had so many weird symptoms over the past two months they diagnosed me with depression/anxiety and health anxiety, so I don't know what's what right now lol. I'm going back to my GP to beg for another blood work up, I've been having a lot of gurgling in my stomach at times and not to sound gross but while having a BM thisorning, every time I'd push my left side would gurgle, it was weird so hopefully they'll help me figure it out. But, if your concerned definitely see your GP or Gyno. smile keep in touch

Hi, I know this is over a year old but I have been having the tugging/pulling and dull pains on right side of pelvic area like everyone else seems to be experiencing so that is why I've checked out this forum. However, I am responding to you Sboverly specifically because I read your post above and want to share that what you are describing with your stomach sounds like something that I have/had been dealing with for about 3 years now. I bet the stomach thing is not related really to your cyst but to me is sounds like the form of IBS that I have/had. I say Have/Had because it was something I was dealing with almost daily for a year or so about 2-3 years ago but it has subsided. My IBS didn't really affect my bowels so much as it terribly affected by stomach which would blow up like a balloon and become distended and air would get trapped in there and I couldn't stop burping (painful deep horrible burps) that would not stop for 12 hours and would start to hit me in the evening mostly so I was kept awake overnight often having to miss work from the lack of sleep and exhaustion that I had experienced trying all night to relieve the trapped gas..I also would have trapped gas that would go into my bowels but I it didnt want to come out the other end either so I was burping and getting no relief from the burping nor did I get relief out the other end. My stomach would often make the gurgling sound. At times I had pain in my stomach but the being kept up all night long was what took a toll on me. It at times affected my BM's and I mostly suffered from constipation type IBS but the worst part was the stomach bloating and hours of trapped gas that I could never get any relief from. I would be up all night trying to move around, in my bathroom pressing on my stomach to move the air/gas around myself and moving about my apartment all night while having sweating/anxiety attacks cause I knew how long it was going to be and the fear would set in while I started and I knew I could suffer all night and not get rest so the anxiety would start which was horrible in and of itself. I was already suffering anxiety prior to my IBS starting and when I finally got diagnosed, I found out the more women then men suffer from IBS and that it can be connected to anxiety/hormones/emotions/menstrual cycle so it makes sense that more women then men would suffer. Also, because typically women are socialized to care about/worry about things more and are more prone to anxiety because we are expected to be superwoman..I started to notice that it was definately related to my anxiety and cycle, but mostly anxiety. Although IBS affects us physically, it is more a neurological syndrome..Our anxious brains send signals to our normally functioning organs/body parts and cause them stress and then a byproduct of that is they stop functioning properly and sometimes spaz out (as the top of my stomach did when I suffered, the top of my stomach would not close/function properly when I had an episode so thats why all the air/burping/gurgling). Now folks suffer with all sorts of IBS symptoms but because all our organs are functioning normally per say in scans, tests etc, IBS is very hard to diagnose. There is also a high rate of suicide among IBS sufferers because there is no cure and often people are never diagnosed because of what I mentioned before but can suffer for years and it takes a toll on your mental health and spirit. I am lucky that mine was no where close to others I read and that mine now has subsided to where I only get an attack once every couple months. The most important thing for someone with IBS (there are many many forms of IBS) is to find a doctor that will listen and has a good bed side manner, because it is a mental health issue more than a physical one (the physical symptoms we suffer are just that, the symptoms of an emotional syndrome) so having a physican who is compassionate and empathetic and willing to support you and help to look for some ways to make the symptoms better..The funny thing was prior to getting diagnosed, I was eating very uber healthy, very high fiber and lots of vegs. This diet was very hard on my IBS so I actually had to do the opposite of what most doctors would tell people and I had to reduce my fiber intake (which kind of make sense with the symptoms I had but others who suffer other types of IBS may need to increase fiber to help their bowels movements move along better etc) so I found a couple diets on line that suggest eating things like sourdough bread instead of highfiber bread etc which i never would have regularly eaten because it lacks nutrients etc compared to the healthy stuff but it is so much better for me now. I also found cooked veg easier on my system whereas prior I was eating tons of raw veg and almost obsessed about getting lots of veg in but I had to cut down. Now ive been able to re introduce some more fiber and raw veg again but in more moderation than before. Anyhow, mostly im wondering if perhaps your stomach/BM situation may be more connected to the said depression/anxiety you are experiencing than to the cyst? About 3 years ago I entered into my first serious relationship and started to experience anxiety related to being in the relationship and after a small stomach bug, triggered the IBS. The docs say that often folks IBS is triggered after having a stomach bug/flu etc..Food for thought. Good luck Everyone!

    Hi Lisa.

I have had an ovarian cyst in the past, which was diagnosed as a dermoid cyst.. My symptoms consisted of a discomfort in my left side and a slight stomach ache almost like a low grade period pain which lasted for several weeks. Periods remained the same throughout. It was only because of the persistent ache I went to the G.P who did blood tests and referral for a scan. Eventually was referred for MRI as the cyst was solid and not fluid filled. I must say I dont recall having a tugging sensation but from your symptoms I would go to the G.P as they may be able to feel something from an intial examination, or referral for a scan and blood tests.

Hope this helps and good luck,

    Hi Lisa

I have 3 ovarian cysts, 2 on my left, and a very large one on my right. I have a pulling sensation above my bikini line, especially if I am walking or have just emptied my bladder. I also have aches and stabby pains on both sides and a lot of lower back ache.

Have your periods changed at all as that was the first sign for me. Arrange to see your go and ask to be referred for an ultrasound scan, as that will show any cysts.

    Good luck

    Hi Lisa.

If you go to your G.P they may be able to tell you more by a basic pelvic exam as my G.P could feel a lump even before the scan. I will admit to googling my symptoms prior and I recall a tugging sensation and increased pain could be caused by having a cyst on an ovary and it becoming twisted which could lead to a medical emergency. Speak to your G.P and hope you get some answers. xx

Please do go to your G.P

    Hi Lisa

I see your post is a bit old but I had exactly these symptoms when this all kicked off back in Feb. It hurt when I stood up, when I went upstairs, when I turned over in bed or bent down- even hurt when I leaned over in my car to open the passenger door. Did you find out what was causing it? I have a cyst it seems and raised CA125 so I'm off to see a specialist this week. The thing is all the pain has gone, so I'm confused!
