twitching

Hi all. This last week I have noticed that I am getting involuntary twitching in my hands. I probably have been getting that for a while as I have become very clumsy and keep dropping things  but I have just realised today that my hands and fingers keep jerking on their own. I am recently diagnosed with fibro and am on prebabalin and co-codomol. I don't know if this is part of the fibro or effects of the meds. Does anyone else experience this. It's very annoying when I am on my laptop as my fingers keep jerking and I hit the wrong letter button. In the morning my fingers are sore and stiff and I can't make a fist for the pain butafter a while and after taking my pills ...they are much better. I hope I don't have another problem on top of having the fibro. Kind regards to all. x

I have twitching, clumsiness and falling over that started recently, about 4 weeks ago, I have been given an appt with a neuroligist tho? Im relieved after reading this as it just looks like more fibro symptoms. Im sooooooo gonna smack my hubby in the face a few times and pretend its a "fibro twitch " though smile

Hi Lin I think you'll find its the Pregabalin at least it has been with me. I did think of coming off it but my gp said of course it was my decision but was I ready for even more pain, which of course I'm not, God knows we have enough! So im still taking it and I try and remember no to hover over my computers keys!! Hope that you find some relief, maybe paraffin wax baths for your hands would help, oh and ask for a blood test for your vitamin D levels that can cause pain also. Good luck, huge hugs.

hi sukest. Since posting my twitching problems I have been told by my GP to come of the pregabalin to see if that's the cause He is weaning me off gradually over four weeks. I will let you know if this stops the twitches and weight gain or not. I just hope the pain doesn't increase. I think he is going to try some other drug once I am off the pregabalin completely. Fingers crossed I am not going from the frying pan to the fire. Keep smiling x

muscle twitch with fibro common symptom , because they are over tight ,

i take no meds except alternatives i still get bouts of twitching , if your on pharmcy meds it could make it worse , but coming of wont make it stop compleatly

, i use magneisum oil on my legs which prevents restless legs and if my eye twitches i dab it on for several days untill it stops when it starts again i do the same .i suppose should do it all the time which i do on my legs ,but on my face it stings a little like salt in a cut .so i just do it when it starts up till it stops .

Hi sorelin thank you so much it's very kind of you to even think about me never mind to let me know how you get on. You are actually doing what I have thought about doing but found I wasn't brave enough to go through with it! Coming off Pregabalin is a big thing and I admire you for doing it. You have obviously done your homework about this drug and by the sound of it you have got a gp who cares and not who just 'goes through the motions' so she will guide you through the process. I will be patiently waiting, because no doubt it will be a long process, to know how you have got on and what conclusion you have come to! I wish you every luck, hang on in there, huge hugs. S xx

    Hello Sorelin

i read your email and it sounded just like what I am going through.

I am now battling a Prolapsed Bladder/Hip that is out of line with my

spine. My feet: Plantar Fastitus in One Foot, than Achilles Tendonitis

in the Other. I have ALL the Symptoms of Fibermalagia, too.

Going Crazy with So Many Things All at Once.

I don't Know how old You are, I am 67. Now my hands are jerking at times.

when I type on my IPad it affects my Typing, when I put on makeup the same.

I'm starting to get scared Not Knowing Why My Hands are like that. I have

restless leg syndrome for awhile. Never Know when it will Strike.
