Uk private treatment

Has anyone in the UK gone down the private route for a replacement or a revision? 

Also which Uk consultants would anyone recommend for complex procedures in UK private or nhs.

    I changed my consultant as the first one I saw had a terrible attitude. I did a lot of research and found Dr Andrew Manktilow in Nottingham. I asked my go to refer me to him which she did and it didn't seem to delay anything. I saw him in at the end of June and could have had the op at beginning of sept but because of kids/work I have delayed it until October. Hope you find someone you are happy with. X

      Thank you, we're in Leicester so Nottingham isn't too far for us.  So he's someone we could consider.

      Yes it is, we're still no further on that we were months ago, she's having a  Fluoroscopic Guided Hip Injection this week but I feel that they're just delaying the inevitable surgery.  She's so unhappy and her quality of life is so poor, she's only 18!

    I had a private hospital, on the NHS, but cannot recommend either since my THR went wrongsad.

    The very best for complex in UK is RNOH Stanmore, they really are the experts.

    My brother had a hip replacement with pruvate health insurance with Prof. Field who operates in Cheam hosputal Surrey and he used tge French technique which does not cut any muscles or tendons but moves them. He walked out of hospital on his 2nd day without crilutches and needed no special equipment at home, gowever he is much in demand and quite expensive. Best wishes Valerie

    I went privately with Sarah Muirhead Allwood at the London Hip Unit. Mine was a straightforward THR but she specialises in difficult cases. I'd recommend her unreservedly. She's wonderful.
