Underarm Pain

Where do I start. Hoping someone can put my mind at rest.
In January, I had a nasty virus which led to chest pains, feeling terrible, palpitations, went to doctors, had ECG and bloods, all normal. Was taking Cerazette mini pill at time, stopped taking it. Started feeling a little better, started taking again. Had dull ache under left armpit and sore boobs. Put this down to starting pill again. Chest started feeling all tight and heavy, pains again, so stopped pill again, went back to doctors, slight swelling to sternum area, told I had Costochondritis. Pain in underarm/left side of breast continued, had a good check doing self breast exam, went back to doctors, had examination off the doctor, no lumps felt, no swollen lymph nodes, doctor put it down to combination of hormomes and costochondritis. Painful armpit went away, got my period, started taking cerazette again.
After a few days, started feeling ill again, armpit and left breast uncomfortable. Took pill for about 12 days, then made decision to stop it altogether, had another doctors apt - blood pressure, heart rate and ECG (again) all normal.
However, dull pain/ache still in armpit and sometimes down left side of breast, sometimes ache down arm. Its intermittent, not always there, when I'm sitting and relaxing I dont feel it, its not stopping me sleeping. When I'm doing things around the house, i'm aware of it. When I squeeze my armpit towards my body, I can feel the ache, but when I stop squeezing,
i dont feel it. Both my breasts look as normal as usual.
I'm sick of waking up every day to this, worrying about it, the doctor says there no lumps and it will probably go away in time, but i'm worried that theres something more seriously wrong, and keep thinking im going to die and leave my husband and daughter which upsets me and makes me think of it more!
I have a 2 year old child that Im always lifting up, and i'm left handed, am wondering if it could be hormonal due to the amount of times I've stopped and started the mini pill in a short space of time, and also if I maybe have a trapped nerve or damaged a muscle in some way.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I've just come across this site as l too have pains in armpit. How are you now as your post was over a year ago. Would be lovely to know you are ok....sending love x. My symptoms are in my right side...a dull ache..and recently had quite bad chest pain. I am right handed and my job is very physical and demanding. I am 54 years of age but am treated like I'm 20 at work..no allowances.

Hi angela,
I too have the pain. It's been about two months. Started on right and now starting to get it on left. My Mammogram is fine. It must be lymph nodes or sweat glands I am thinking. Seeing the doctor next week, I bet she will have no clue. I am 64 in good shape and fairly healthy otherwise.

I am now seeing my chiropractor. No cardiac, lymph node or cancer so decided to start being treated this way. He thinks it may be a pinched nerve & muscle strain & because I do physical work it is not healing.
It has now moved to between my shoulder blades & is very painful.
Going to really be diligent in going.

has anyone had a fall? the Anterior serratus muscle runs between the ribcage at the back, under the arm and pain can manifest in the armpit near the breast. I haven't had a bone scan but that's next on the list. My physio asked me if I had had a fall, as he says the pain is also at my back (only when prodded) and is like a broken rib pain. He has recommended improvements to my posture and back & side stretching exercises, heat packs and light duties. Just seeing if anyone else has had a fall that might injure the Anterior serratus muscle?

My husband is having a pain in his arm pit but it is radiating farther to his back a little. He says it feels like something slapping in there. He says it's pretty painful been going on for a while

This might not apply to everyone. We went to a massage therapist for deep tissue massages. My husbands upper ribs in his armpit area were out after a few adjustments everything is feeling better, the massage therapist says sometimes just if your knee or your hip hurts You walk a little different which throws your whole diaphragm off. And sometimes your ribs can pop out. it's worth a try

After reading several posts, it's interesting that many of you have said that their issue started with something. Mine started with pain in the neck, some would call it stiff neck but I could move my neck just fine. I could not rotate it 100% but it didn't hinder a lot of my activities only backing into my drive. The pain was mostly in the left shoulder blade, thinking that it may be a pinched nerve I had my husband massage it, it got worse, I then went to a massage therapist the pain was even more excruciating. So I just started applying heating pads that helped for a while. It's been about a month and I'm still having the issue but only when I sleep on my right side or press my arms against my body. Heat so far has been helpful, there are no pain meds that have helped. I had this issue I think back in 2014 or 2015. I was given a muscle relaxer because the young ER Dr. came in looked at me and said stiff neck, ordered a muscle relaxer and left, I was so frustrated with him. It helped with a lot of the pain because I was in tears, it didn't fix the problem. It eventually went away and now I'm back where I started.
