Underarm Pain

Where do I start. Hoping someone can put my mind at rest.

In January, I had a nasty virus which led to chest pains, feeling terrible, palpitations, went to doctors, had ECG and bloods, all normal. Was taking Cerazette mini pill at time, stopped taking it. Started feeling a little better, started taking again. Had dull ache under left armpit and sore boobs. Put this down to starting pill again. Chest started feeling all tight and heavy, pains again, so stopped pill again, went back to doctors, slight swelling to sternum area, told I had Costochondritis. Pain in underarm/left side of breast continued, had a good check doing self breast exam, went back to doctors, had examination off the doctor, no lumps felt, no swollen lymph nodes, doctor put it down to combination of hormomes and costochondritis. Painful armpit went away, got my period, started taking cerazette again.

After a few days, started feeling ill again, armpit and left breast uncomfortable. Took pill for about 12 days, then made decision to stop it altogether, had another doctors apt - blood pressure, heart rate and ECG (again) all normal.

However, dull pain/ache still in armpit and sometimes down left side of breast, sometimes ache down arm. Its intermittent, not always there, when I'm sitting and relaxing I dont feel it, its not stopping me sleeping. When I'm doing things around the house, i'm aware of it. When I squeeze my armpit towards my body, I can feel the ache, but when I stop squeezing,

i dont feel it.  Both my breasts look as normal as usual.

I'm sick of waking up every day to this, worrying about it, the doctor says there no lumps and it will probably go away in time, but i'm worried that theres something more seriously wrong, and keep thinking im going to die and leave my husband and daughter which upsets me and makes me think of it more!

I have a 2 year old child that Im always lifting up, and i'm left handed, am wondering if it could be hormonal due to the amount of times I've stopped and started the mini pill in a short space of time, and also if I maybe have a trapped nerve or damaged a muscle in some way.

Any comments would be appreciated.

    I came on this site in hope that I'd find some answers, I'm glad I started reading this... I am 17 and have experienced this pain for over 2 months now, along with palapatations, back pain and also pain under left arm and on top or left boob. Has anyone had any answers yet?

      I just seen this and I share these symptoms but no answers as yet! Mine are on right side

      Hi Kate, I'm 42 and I have the same symtoms. Had a mammogram and ultrasound. Only found cysts. Left breast hurts, top of breast on chest hurts and pain in back, same side as breast. Also have pain in underarm that shoots down my arm and side. Frankly I'm tired of doctor looking at me like I'm crazy. I'm miserable and know one has answers. Started primrose and vitamin e to see if it helps. Crossing my fingers. Anyone hears of anything better let me know. Good luck to you guys.

    I have had the same thing and had a ecg mammogram and look work! All come back clear but now I have inner shaking that keeps me awake my whole body is buzzing inside so weird has anyone experienced this

      Hi Dawn...did you ever find out what was wrong with you?  I wanted to tell you, I had lyme disease and had the same symptoms!  If you haven't been checked for it, please do!  You need to go to a lyme disease Dr. as the blood test will probably not show up as positive, but a Dr that has experience with lyme patients will know where to send your blood work.

      There is a lab in CA that tests for it and is most accurate!

    I too am so happy to have come across this discussion. I literally have been going out of my mind, I am a single mother of a 3 year old and am imaging the absolute worst, to the point I dont want to find out! I have breast (sternum pain) that goes to my shoulder and down my right arm, my right breast feels sensitive and sore sometimes and my underarm sore and itchy. I did go to the doctor and he said he could find no lumps and that it was probably a muscle injury but its going on for so long now and the sensation down the arm and underarms is there all the time. The sternum pain feels like its in the bone and near the surface, it can feel like its "healing" you know that itchy type feeling? Anyway, I would be really glad to hear how you all got on, its terrible to be feeling like this!!! Good luck to you all! K

      To everyone in this text thread:  many of the symptoms I' m reading about here could be explained by vertebrae or disc problems in the neck. Tingling, shooting, aching pain in chest, arms, armpit, shoulders, hands, fingers and itching can all point to a  neurological problem. I had to have a fusion done in my neck.

      Have an x-ray and mri done of your neck, or a nerve conduction test to see where your nerves may be blocked.

    I started with pin in my left breast like a pinching feeling! I have been tested for everything and now I have inner tremors going on like a vibration? Anyone had that?

      Like fire works going off?? My muscles have been a nightmare since it had virus. Have you had any stress?? I only ask because I know that has contributed to my illness.

    Hi again,..I continue to feel my under arm pain... It feels now more on my left armpit...upper left breast a slight tender nipple. I had a complete blood tests and all came back normal. I was put on pain meds and muscle relaxers. I'm petrified when I search and cancer or lymphoma pop up... I have another appointment on the 7th of Jan and I will see where I go from there. Sometimes I feel a little pain on my left neckbone idk its all weird. I pray everyday and I will pray for all of us t o be better and find answers. If any of you want to get in contact. My name us Marie.. I'm in US I know is hard especially if you have kids. I'm only 26 and have 3 bbys
