Aw that's good then ๐Ÿ˜Š so what happens now will you still be going for surgery??

Bit spooky but I met with my gynaecologist this morning (first time since going for my mri) and was told I have an endometrioma (which explains why the nurse told me 'it looked a sticky mess'. I'm just waiting to go in for surgery, possible hysterectomy if it looks sinister otherwise just a clean up and ovary removal ๐Ÿ˜Š xx

Bryony, best wishes for your surgery. ย I had laparoscopy yesterday to have an ovary removed along with hysteroscopy for removal of uterine and cervical polyps. ย Hope all will go well for you! ย Keep us posted. ๐Ÿ˜Š

      Thanks Elizabeth

I have said to my gynae to try and avoid ahysterectomy unless it all looks suspicious when they look inside but I'm now wondering if I should just go for the full hysterectomy as I don't want that severe pain I had (that I believe was caused by torsion of the ovary). Anyway I'll keep you updated โ˜บ thank you.

How are you feeling after your laparoscopy?? Wishing you a speedy recovery xx

I see what you mean about a hysterectomy. ย It may be the way to go. ย So far, I am feeling better today. ย Recovery is definitely gradual, and with my cycle so irregular anyway I have started a period this morning... left a message for my doctor just to make sure she agrees that us what it is, but it is consistent with my current cycle pattern, such as it is these days! ย

I'm sure I read somewhere that is normal to have a period after a laparoscopy, hopefully your doctor will confirm this โ˜บ.

Glad your on the road to recovery, take things easy and keep us updated on how you're getting on xx

Bryony how did nurse explain it looked like a sticky mess please ? From the Mri report im confused๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm not entirely sure tbh, I went in for the mri and then about a week later the gynae nurse phoned me and said that the cyst looked benign on the scan but that it was all a sticky mess and that I will probably need a hysterectomy. I got really upset as she wouldn't elaborate on what sticky mess meant or if my right ovary was ok or not. Anyway I met with the gynaecologist who confirmed that the sticky mess is due to the endometrioma/endometriosis on my left ovary and apparently I also have one on my right side hope that makes sense xx

Thanks, Bryony... the nurse did call back and confirm, and so far it is light, which is good!

I've read it's all congealed old blood deposits,so you have another on left ovary where I have shown to have more on sacro ligaments whatever that is and lesion on bladder, blimey I must have had it years and all I've suffered with is heavy periods brown spotting after and In between periods and frequently weeing xxx

YAY Michelle!!!!!!!!!! ย I can't begin to say how happy I am, and how relieved, that it was not cancer. ย That is super! ย If you have any questions about Cystoscopy and/or hysteroscopy, please ask because I've now had both. ย I had the Cystoscopy back in Feb. when they were trying to figure out my frequent urination issue. ย Take care and keep us posted! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
