Update... Still getting yellow balls in stools [with images]

Hello everyone,

If you've seen my previous discussion from last year, you will know I was having problems with undigested food, strands of fibre and these yellow balls in my stool.

After eliminating dairy and going vegan once again, the symptoms cleared up for a bit. However, after a couple months, the strands of fibre and yellow balls have come back!

I'm once again worried about these yellow balls - they're a bit hard to touch, but squidgy and semi-solid in the middle (it's not sweetcorn - the balls are bigger, plus I haven't eaten any in the past week to rule this out anyhow). They appear more so when my stools are harder but can also appear in soft stools.

Is anybody experiencing similar symptoms or does anyone have any ideas about what these could be?

Pictures are below.

Hey Team, just signed up to ask if anyone else was taking Psyllium Husk? i noticed once i took my Psyllium husk with vitamins and other capsules the same thing started happening. Once i stopped them at the same time, it stopped completely

I have the EXACT same thing. It literally looks identical and happens every time I use the bathroom. I am in more pain than normal and really worried as well. I did a stool sample test last week and am still waiting for the results. Have you done that yet? I am really hoping that gives some answers. I can't find much of anything on the internet - can't believe I found this post. Please keep updating!!!

This is happening to me as well, with the yellow solids and fibrous mucous. I'm honestly really concerned and confused by it.

I am not on any of the medications others on this string have mentioned. I do take a few simple supplements. I had a kidney stone a few months back. But the MRI and CTs I had showed nothing amiss in my gallbladder nor liver. it did show some non-inflamed diverticuli. I do have IBS but no real bad symptoms for years.

not sure what to do and tbh, I'm a bit scared...

I have had 12 kidney stones in the past few years - I wonder if this could somehow be related to that?? But I've never seen the yellow stuff until the past 6 weeks or so. I went to the ER yesterday - they said my gallbladder is full of stones, but they have no idea what the yellow balls are. My primary care doctor and the ER doctor were completely baffled and had never seen anything like it. They said to follow up with a GI doctor. I will post on here if I get any information from the GI doctor.

I have been wanting to reply to this thread since first reading it several months ago, but didn't know what to say as I not only didn't know, but as most of you probably feel, it's quite embarrassing to talk about. But now I think I might actually have an answer after my relentless research and I'm over feeling ashamed for something I can't control. I too had been having these yellow balls with my bowel movements, or I should say, chronic diarrhea. When the yellow balls I would get break open, a dry white powder would release. In addition to the yellow balls which I would get on average, every 2 weeks, I also had what looked like hundreds of tiny (millimeter sized) pearl looking balls in my diarrhea. when those were squished, they would turn into an actually pretty, iridescent color.

Now onto my prognosis. I take many medications, but the one that relates most to this thread of course, is my Buproprion. I discussed the issues I was having with my psychiatrist after reading this thread and he said that he had never heard of such a thing called the "ghost pill" and that Buproprion doesn't usually cause diarrhea, but agreed to switch me from my current Buproprion ER (extended release) to regular release, twice per day, to see if I had any changes. Well, I did. Although I still have the diarrhea, I no longer have the yellow balls. I do still get the tiny pearl looking balls though. This was an immediate change as soon as I switched from the extended release. When I discussed what could be the possible reason with my doctor, he said that sometimes people are unable to absorb the shell or coating of the extended releases pills, so the body is unable to digest it and therefore it may come out as these "ghost pills". it's unknown why some people have difficulty while others don't, but maybe if we keep discussing WE can figure it out. I've usually been the one to have to figure out ALL of my diagnoses as I've found few health professionals who have helped me.

thanks but it doesn’t explain it for me. I only take a probiotic and I dissolve that in liquid.

Not sure about your previous post but you might want to have a colonoscopy. I most likely have diverticulitis per urgent care and have some weird "pouches" (not exactly like yours) in my stools. found your post looking for what I found in my poop. I had pea looking empty plastic like thing and also small squishy poop piece. My insurance will kick in soon and a colonoscopy is 1st on my list due to what I have read. Good luck 👍

I the exact same things and had have them off and on for about 3 years now I do not have a gallbladder I do not take any medications I actually think they might be some type of parasites or the eggs from them or something to do with parasites

I also do not take meds except for I started taking a probiotic and I take it in dissolved water. This started before I took the probiotic.

I think a parasite is a potential cause. Do you have any more information on that?
