Intrusive thoughts, i know exactly what you mean by that!  I experienced it myself and decided to taper off the Zoloft.  I am not a medical professional and don't know that this was a smart move, but I the intrusive thoughts began to subside and are now all but gone.  I just couldn't take the restless nights.  I'd wake up at 2am and feel too tired to get up but I was just beating myself up over sh*t that happened 20 years ago.  So I'd get up still too tired with nervous anxiety unable to write or type, barely able to read with not much comprehension.  Scared me off of it.  I recently read Celexa is a more mild that zoloft.  So i might give it a shot next time i visit doctor.

hi deanna, you have been on it for how many weeks and you increased to how much?

yes, you often feel a bit crappy unfortunately when you increase the dose, but it will most likely settle in so don't give up on it too quickly ok

      Hi

I was in the same position a couple of weeks ago, what are your intrusive thoughts I'm only asking as I've been told to add something to the sertraline for the thoughts but sertraline definitely worked on depression and anxiety xx

Like I'll never be happy again or I have no emotion. I take 1 mg of. Ativan a day. I'm afraid to take more

try to be patient deanna (i know it's it's tough) and the increased anxiety and intrusive thoughts should settle down ok.  this is a very common occurence for people when taking an ssri and increasing their dose.

give it a week or two and hopefully you should feel a little better (even a little better is a victory because then you know you are headed in the right direction and that the side effects will continue to go down and then pass)

hey, you can feel a bit 'flat' when waiting for sertraline to settle in (so almost feel like emotions are 'on hold' and so don't really feel happy or sad).  don't worry about that though as that side effect does pass ok

keep us posted on your progress here ok. you'll be just fine with time smile

Rather than go straight onto the 150mg why don't you increase it gradually, 100mg one day then 150mg the next do this for a week then go up to 150mg see if that helps. Going up to 160mg for me has been horrific & a friend suggested doing it gradually but I think I'm going to try go back down to 100mg as I feel I'm better on that dose. Hope I haven't confused you!! Good luck xx

It was horrific for me going from 100mg to 150mg. So yes I think it is normal. I ended up taking a week off work taking diazepam as that calmed me down. Sometimes to take time out helps xx

Hey Deanna. Anxiety does go up before it comes down. Any other side affects. My GI track is a mess. I'm not sure I can stay on the Zoloft. It sure has helped level my moods though 😊
