It will pass Deanna, I know it doesn't seem like it right now. It's very normal to get the intensified anxiety and intrusive thoughts when increasing the dose. Hang in there

I think I might have misread your post, I thought you were doing fine on 100.
The side effects will go away after a few weeks, even the feelings of detachment. You're on the road to recovery so my advice is not to give up!

Guys ,, I've been prescribed 50mg daily of Lustral and am on it 1 week now . I've suffered for years with depression/ anxiety and eventually went to my GP. I am in the horrors since taking my first tablet with sweats, shakes , tremors, etc and am not sleeping nor eating . Please tell me if this is a normal reaction as I feel worse ...Any advice welcome

sertraline and other ssri meds work on the are of you relating to serotonin, and serotonin is related to mood, body temperature, appetite, sleep, amongst other things. so unfortunately as you get used to the med and serotonin changes occur inside you (which will turn out to be a very good thing after you have gone through the initial startup discomfort), you have to put up with the side effects which for you are related to appetite, sleep, and sweating (shakes and tremors are common also)
try to keep going as you are and the side effects you are experiencing should lesson as the days and weeks go on ok. if things get absolutely unbearable though you could always return to your doctor, who might advise on you taking half a tablet (25mg) for the first few weeks before moving up to 50mg, so as to make the start up for you more comfortable

i also feel worse in the morning, but it's very mild for me now because I'm 13 weeks in on the medication. You'll get there but it takes time and a lot of positive talk.

deanna, unfortunately that's common feeling suicidal also (i had it really bad myself)
it will go away though (it's just a distant memory to me now, after 3 months of sertraline treatment). keep going and things will get easier for you, it really will (and hopefully your recovery will be faster than many of use here who had to wait quite a few months to feel better)
